All they should make it do is make it good at long distances and bad at short distances by making it gain damage over distance, with where it's being shot from being where there is no damage.
You realize that is the reverse of how it is sapose to work right? strong at close range, slows down, loses it's velocity, and gets weaker as it travels through the air untill it finally hits something or falls the the ground.
How they should do it, if it is coming back, is as a prototype like how it is when the Spartans first use it when they were trying to escape the CASTLE research facility.
That's correct, at least in the real world. Since this is a game and not the real world, anything can happen. When was the last time you saw a giant laser killing anyone?
Ah, but the military researchers are working on trying to utilize lasers as weapons, are they not? The SPARTAN Laser utilizes very dense particals of light super heated enough that it may not only travel at the speed of light, but blow -blam!- up as well, in theory.
Now, as we are talking about a game taking place aproximatly two hundred and forty sum years from now, all those thing MIGHT be possible, as there is no such thing as impossible because even the most improbable thing has a high enough probability to eventually work or come to light, and as such I leave my self open minded.
Quick! We have to jump back into the time portal to get back to the fake reality!
And thus human nature takes over, creating conflict, but fine.
I was mearly stating how things could be possible when people think they are not. Now, if you were to say, shot a bullet from a M16, it will travel is realistic range and slowdown quickly and fall to the ground or hit something with less of an impact, thus causing major injury but not death. I do not deny that some day in the future we could, some how, reverse engineer said gun to get reverse results, BUT untill such a time comes, I doubt anyone would make a gun that speeds up over time, and does little to nil at point blank range.
