If somebody's opinion is being smashed and nobody's helping, I try and help. I use logic and extensive vocabulary (and sometimes self-destructive circular reasoning) to confuse my enemies into submission. Fear me, trolling, fapping creatures of the night. For I. Am your worst nightmare.

No. That was a quota of what everybody is saying. The Flood will probably NEVER be seen again. 1. They were totally annhialated at the end of Halo 3. 2. The Flood were not yet unleashed upon the Halo's. What I mean by that is that the Flood were not "discovered by man". Fall of Reach doesn't talk about the Flood at all. Not even once! ANd if Bungie follows the written canon, which they will :P, then we will not see any evidence of the Flood.

Fall of Reach focuses on The Covenant invasion of Reach, not the Flood. We will not see the Flood. EVER AGAIN...unless 343 wants us to. So please stop making topics about the Flood. Yes they could probably work in a noncanon version of Firefight, but I highly doubt it.

So stop wasting peoples time making threads saying that you know how the Flood will fit in to Reach, because its not going to happen.

halo reach is before the end of halo 3 and besides i would love an epic discovery of the flood just like halo CE's but no flood focussed levels tough, i hate those.

and the flood could have been dicoverd erlier but humanity just didn't know wat it was.

well the game wont play through the book, so dont rule out plot twists

Read fall of reach, by Eric Nylund. Thats is as canonical as you can get. It mentioned nothing of the FLood what so ever. And like I said. The Flood have not been discovered by Humans yet. They are discovered on Installation 00, which is the Halo installation you are on in CE.

And how do you know it wont be played through the book ubercow? Did Bungie tell you and not us? No. I doubt it. They have never told us anything besides their progress with the game and what the teaser trailer told us.

There is not going to be flood in halo reach. But flood was discovered before halo 1. Remember halo wars?

fair enough, but think about the huge sections of the book with no action in it. its fine as a book, not as a game. do you think bungie are too lazy to write a new plot

Tallahassee?
I spent two weeks in Tallahassee one night.

Personally only the flood in CE were fun. Since CE the flood has gotten a more repetitive feel and i have found the levels with flood annoying. I am super glad that there will be no flood in Reach. I am glad there was none in ODST and it made it a better game. Short but significantly better.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

So what if TFoR doesn't mention Flood? If you remember correctly, it follows the PoV of Blue Team IN SPACE at the time of the invasion. The Flood would have been located INSIDE the planet... so why would we hear about them in TFoR? We hear about absolutely NO ground combat on Reach in TFoR. The PoA leaves the planet before it actually falls. The Flood may well have been on Reach.

But if Bungie goes by the book TFoR then they should also go by First Strike because that mentions the Ground Assault of Reach from Red Team's PoV. But listen to me argue with MLG :P Ill probably lose the argument. Okay lets leave it at Bungie should go by the full book of FoR(have some of the talking parts as cutscenes) and only the parts that mention the Ground Op from First Strike.

The trailer hints at ground combat on Reach. We don't see any of the ground combat on Reach in Halo: The Fall of Reach.

Also, this game is called Halo: Reach, hinting that it will be about combat that happens ON Reach, not Halo: Asteroids, Cote d'Azure, Eridanus II, Jericho VII, Iriquois, etc. so why would we assume it's based on the novel "The Fall of Reach"?

Yes but MLG, let me refer to my earlier comment:

hmm , what if you and your teamate's finds some flood samples in the forerunner ruins inside reach?

your team finds a flood sample in a container and opens it to take a closer look, but then it attacks you and you have to retreat and seal the room so that it cant reach the surface.
but the covenants kills you and your team before you can send a distress signal to the UNSC.

I dont think that there will be flood on Reach, but Bungie could do anything.

Yeah true.

If you want to see the MC die, play Legendary. If you want to see MC finish the fight, play Halo 3. If you want to see MC finish the fight by dieing, why did you waste six years when you could have done it yourself right now?

If the script is as bad as Halo 3, yeah you're definitely not going to see any extreme plot twists like seeing Flood early.
