Ok let me go back eight years ago......Awww sweet a unsc aircraft i bet ill be able to fly in halo 2....Three years later......Awwwww too bad i cant fly the bird i bet ill be able to fly it in halo 3.......three more years later......ARE YOU F*** SERIOUS ICANT FLY THE PELICAN????MOTHER.....present day...... i bet reach will have pelicans.....My point is reach should have flyable pelicans (and phantoms)

It's a realy bad idea if you want them in MM
but imagine a pelican or phantom escape as the last campaign level instead of a warthog rush.

but imagine a pelican or phantom escape as the last campaign level instead of a warthog rush.

It's a bad idea for our current map size. If we had a massively huge map, it'd be perfect.

I could go either way on this. On the one hand the idea of having them flyable in matchmaking could be fun. On the other hand I'm sure Bungie has their reasons why they haven't put them in the game yet. For one, it could transport an entire team of 8 people, now who would want to put all their eggs in one basket. 1 hit from a splazer and a single dude just takes out an entire team, so to counter this Bungie would have to increase its hit points and thus it would become too powerful. So making it balanced is the biggest issue I have with it.

It wouldn,t be overpowered if the Matchmaking variant was without a single firing platform (the big purple gun and the plasma cannons), but people could fire from the inside of it with their respective guns.

um a spartan laser would not kill a pelican in 1 shot. not even a scorpion dies in one shot AND you have to have a skillful pilot not a dumbass who doesnt know how to play

If you read all of what I said, then you would know I said that Bungie would need to make it take more than 1 shot to take it down and because of that it would be too powerful. I mean during objective games an entire team could raid an enemy's base all at once. There is a reason why all of the vehicles currently can only carry a portion of the team.

how about both the spirits and phantoms. i dont see how the covenant just pulled a dropship out of their ass over a few weeks (about the time between halo ce and halo 2)and then decided to just scrap there probably millions of spirit dropships

inferno when you say a pelican would be too powerful well think if they made a weapon that COULD kill it in one shot well they would have to make that weapon hard to use and hard to find to balance it out while the spartan laser could take 3 shots to blow it up which actually makes sense cause the scopion takes 2 then a slightly more armored pelican could take 3 which makes more sense
by the way no offense

No worries, no offense taken, and yeah, I get what you're saying, and what I was saying was that no matter which way they try to balance the pelican it wouldn't be fun to use. Either 1. The Pelican is killed in 1 or 2 shots with whatever anit-vehicle weapon causing an entire team or a lot of them to die that was being transported, or 2. It takes too many hits to bring the Pelican down and as a result an entire team of 8 will raid an enemy base all at once. NOT fun either way. I just don't see any way it could be balanced so that it was fair and useful. I mean enemies would instantly start bombarding it as soon as it takes to the air hoping to score a killamanjaro medal.

ok apparently if I'm correct spartan lasers weren't around in the times of reach, a spartan laser kills a phantom in 2 - 3 hits, and the eggs in the basket thing, yet it is a risk, but think of the awesomeness of it all, if it were a game were it was classes, or modifiesd classes, see CoD 4, it would be great, and maybe there could be a pilot class. e.g. phantoms, spirits, pelicans, longswords etc.

yes the lazer might not have been in Reach but an older version maybe???i mean look at modern days Kalashnikov.its been around for many years.Pelicans couldnt probably carry many spartans cause they can carry a crew of a pilot a passenger and 15 marines.an armored marine weight about 100 kilos a spartan weights 500.so 3 spartans on the back and 2 in front.plot controls landing gear and the ship itself and the co pilot the misille launchers and supply cases or HEVs on the back.i suggest that the Pelican will go down with 3 laser shots on the main body,2 on the wings or the thrusters and one if it hits the cockpit.it should have kinda the same controls as the hornet but it should be able to magnetise vehicles on the back:)
