and I hope the game isn't completely based off the book. Doesn't sound like much of a fun game to me.

Yes it is spelt like that on purpose.

I believe there was a book about the events at Reach. It may not have been called Halo:Reach but I know there is one, I have yet to pick it up myself.

I am aware of the obvious lack of a book with the exact title, "Halo: Reach."

You see, the game will be based on The Fall of Reach book because Sam was there and because it has Reach mentioned on the title in the book so it means we will play everything in the game but the ground battle of Reach because it's the only possible way by judging those silhouettes who are wearing Mark IV.

probanly not. the gameplay in TFoR would be too inconsistant (kid, super soldier, armoured supersoldier, armoured supersoldier with shields)

if it is based on a book it will be first strike since it has battles on the ground on reach. but i dont think it will follow the exact story line, it will probably follow the unnacounted for spartans on BETA team

Anyway, I hope that Bungie goes its own way with the game and not based on the book.

The book IS Bungie's way...

As far as I know, the book is not written by Bungie, but by an author that was given some guidelines by Bungie, so not necessarily how Bungie wanted it to be.

And my point, is that the book would not be a very fun game.

Just like ODST we will probably be playing only a small section while the story unfolds all around the missions.

Like we play this while this other thing is going on.

Even in Halo 3 there was more going on along with the missions we were playing so I don't see it as a big mystery.

I read all the books and yeah it would be dumb to play the mission where they discover the underground area because there is no fighting really if any(can't remember all of it now)

I say now would be the best time to go get the 3 books before Ghosts of Onyx.

Even though you will read the Halo CE story in those books it is still good.

I really got a true sense of scary and creepy reading about all the details on the Halo ring like how the MC found a dead soldier on his way through and how he rolled away from infection forms.

That dead soldier was always a mystery to me because from what I remember he was just a normal soldier and we were all under the impression 343 only recognized MC's armor. Guess not. Goes to show you when it is encoded in your DNA you will create identical armor as your predecessors.

Anyway I loved the part with the (I think) grates and the infected forms behind it. Really creepy.

Halo: The Fall of Reach is based on information from the Halo Bible. That means the book was writen how Bungie wanted it to be.

Is it really that hard to understand that he means TFoR? They game may not take off exactly how the TFOR went, but I'm sure it will be based off of key major events that happen during the Battle of Reach.

No need to flame a misinformed soul.
