"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." - Albert Einstien

I would e-mail this to Bungie rather than pray they see this on the forums.

you dont need to have a bungie person tell you exactly what its like (but don't stop them) if you want to do it, then go try, you cant go bad with game designing surely...

Game design is one of the most stressful jobs in existence. You know why they give you all those snacks, fooseball tables and other things in the building you work? Not because they like you. It is to keep you from leaving the building.

You don't need Bungie for this. Here in Queensland, Australia I have 2 choices:

QUT: OP 13, $10,000
QANTM: OP Not Required, $20,000

So if I don't get the OP I need for QUT I can still pump out some money, and i'll be all good. Don't expect to get into Bungie after Uni though, you'll need to work your way up from smaller companies.

[EDIT] And as advice, on the few hours you have off, do something enjoyable. Games Design is stressful and hard. Keep the enjoyment in your life and you'll be fine.

have you had expernrience as a game designer? it sounds like a pretty cool job, the only stressful part can be working to a deadline, but then, thats the same with every deadline when you want to make something as good as possible. But storyline and ideas and brainstorming (my kind of thing) cant be massively stressful can it? expand!

It's very stressful. It seems easy but every little thing they do has to be perfect, or the game will fail. The numorus amounts of crashes you can get just from putting a '.' or ';' in the wrong place is scary.

It's not as easy as brainstorming. Most Game Designers also know some programing, because your not going to get payed to sit on your ass all day thinking.

Chunky_Lover's Average Joe Interview

Bungie All Star Contest Winner Weeks 6,8 and 12

In a course I took in College, Game Design I can say is not my forte.

Its hard, stressful and sometimes really hard to get your vision out there. You also need to know fundamentals of what make a game, from the inside and out. I had to study games like Chess and Parcheezee to determine what make those games and factor in those results into games.

Its tough stuff.

As someone said before, you should know at least some of the insides and outs of the gaming industry.

Game Design is not as glamorous as people think it is.

Ok i don't really need all the feed back but thanks for your input anyway and I'm also not looking to get hired at bungie Its for a College Course called Career development and I have to do informational interview and i thought that this would be easier for bungie to answer than emailing them

O and if you are answering the questions from the first post please put your first name and answer them in the order they asked, it would be really appreciated.
