Subject: two maps that should come back

Timberland
is a multiplayer level exclusive only to Halo PC and Halo Mac.It features two, two-story bases (nearly identical to those in Sidewinder, but with some subtle differences) separated by steep hills, trees and a small creek. In general the map is very symmetric, which makes Timberland one of Halo PC's best maps to play CTF or Assault.

The map has several control points and many aspects which suit it for competitive games. Along with an Overshield in the middle sitting on an island in the creek, it has an Active Camouflage on either side and one inside the small waterfall(much like in Beaver Creek). The symmetry of Timberland makes it a balanced map. In terms of weapons with the gametype weapon settings on normal, four Sniper Rifles spawn, two Rocket Launchers, and two Fuel Rod Guns each of these weapons spawn opposite to their counterparts with respect to the Overshield in the center of the map. The level also does not have any teleporters, making for more intense gameplay.

Danger Canyon
is a multiplayer level exclusive only to Halo PC and Halo Mac. The level is somewhat similar to the Halo and The Silent Cartographer levels in single player Campaign of Halo: Combat Evolved. Danger Canyon features a long, narrow and winding canyon with an alternate passageway leading to a second level in the center of the canyon. It is a large level and teams can get stuck fighting across the second level canyon area for extended periods of time. The tunnels going through the cliffs will lead to your opponents base and a cliff.

Awesome isn’t just a word. Awesome is a way of life. Awesome is a way of war. Teamwork matters the most. Lone Wolves jeopardize the missions. Teamwork is key. Resistance is futile. The covenant fear us, not the other way around. We don’t fight for Earth. We don’t fight for Reach. We fight for the good of mankind because we are A.W.E.S.O.M.E. District and Headlong FTW!

I played on blood gulch for the first time today.... I've never really played the first halo much... was kinda before my time I was young and didn't know anyone who had it and I didnt have an xbox... I realize why everyone likes blood gulch... well first off I like the textures... blue sky... green grass big open field... it feels simple... just a very simple battlefield... I liked it I wasnt even playing against anyone but from my halo 3 online experience I would say its a nice change... it doesnt feel like Im in a city or in a desert or in a forerunner artifact its just a big green open field... game play seems like it would be fun... 2 bases to stock up on weps.. Im assuming there were health packs in there I didnt check... each base has 2 warthogs... rocket warthog was cool!! so you can go around fighting in warthogs, there is no spots where someone can hide and snipe heck I didnt see a sniper there... rocket launcher in CE was cool as well... I havent gotten very far in CE and now I have for pc and xbox! flame thrower in ce can be reloaded sweet! man Im starting to see why everyone liked halo: ce so much lol reach could be like CE with updated graphics... that would be cool... I wanna see a blood gulch remake... heck I still want something that looks like blood gulch just with updated graphics/textures I like all the bright vibrant colors in blood gulch actually don't ask my why but halo: ce graphics remind me sort of games like decent I dunno why just the colors seem similar but I like it!

Blood gulch and death island would be better. Timberland was decent, I didnt much care for danger canyon, all the halls in the moutain made for a huge campe site. Like I walked in there expecting to see a bond fire and tents pitched everywhere.

Blood Gulch was a big open field, very easy to hide on the rocks or caves and snipe. And the Rocket Hog and Flame thrower were added to the PC version of CE, they weren't in the xbox one at all.

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

I would like Death Island because it was probably the largest map, had a few secluded/hiding spots, and was considerably open. I also enjoy Infinity.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

Wasn't long before blood gulch fappists arrived.

My name is Alex. I am 20 years old and I am currently attending the Savannah College of Art and Design to become a conceptual artist (majoring in game design). I am an avid gamer with a collection of 532 games (183 of those are 360 games(70 of which I have yet to play)) and every console from 1985 and onwards. I also have the most beautiful womanz in the world, who encourages me to draw more (I need the encouragement haha).

Ice Fields was a fantastic map, as was Timberland. Death Island of course was crazy fun, but I was never than huge of a fan of Danger Canyon. If I could choose only two however, it would be an original take on Death Island with Pelicans and an even more foresty take on Timberland for all the sniper hobags out there.

Death to rank junkies.

I'd like Infinity, Gephrophobia, Hnag 'em High, District, Uplift, and Waterworks.

My third montage!

FINALLY! Someone else who loves these maps. Danger canyon RAWKS. I think out all these maps it would translate well into halo 3's style of gameplay. If Reach is similar then it would do just as well. You have the large canyon for open infantry and vehicle combat and the narrow hallways would provide for a Rat's nest close quarters like experience.

I love Valhalla but I think Timberland exceeds it in so many ways. It's wider, the rolling hills, the trees, the multiple routes to cover. Timberland would be ridiculous for snipers. Timber could easily handle just about any gametype, Rocket Race anyone?

Death Island. This map is so very intriguing, I've never seen another map like it, based of the level the Silent Cartographer, You have a multi-teired island with beaches circling all the way around it. Huge bases, it could support every vehicle.

This is great thread. I have serious doubts that we'll get any of these maps in Halo: Reach, but I still hold a shred of hope that someone at bungie has seen myself and others express our desire to see these maps in Halo Reach or perhaps a surprise, final hurrah map pack for halo 3.

All of those maps created by gearbox were amazing and dare I say better than many of the original bungie made maps Certainly better than blood gulch.

I'd like to be half-man half-tree in an octopus' garden in the shade.

Bungie, oh Bungie, oh Bungie,
Know what would really be fun, G?
I don’t wish to nag
But remake Coag,
Or die from a purple sword-lungie.

Coag and Waterworks.

I like giant maps.

bungie has proven that a bunch of monkeys sitting in front of keyboards can randomly type out a masterpiece. the thing is, when you go to play the masterpiece, you cant help but notice all the monkey s**t smeared all over it.

it gets real old having to wait months for someone like mlg to clean off all the monkey poo.

nope.

its not fun walking around maps 2-3x larger then sandtrap. it isnt even fun walking around maps half the size of sandtrap.

Its a trap!!!

I would vote to have bungie select the best user created map for Halo PC Custom Edition and the winner of the contest will have the map recreated in Halo Reach

Of course give enough time and a deadline. This may motivate people to fire up Halo PC and create new maps.

there was a sniper rifle. it's on the top of the base to the left of the transport (if your facing the transport) lastly you should rent h2 and play on coagulation (blood gulch's h2 love child)
