Recon 111 was stationed nearby Voi, Kenya during the Second Battle of Earth and the Battle of Voi, and was tasked to report Covenant activity near a small section of Earth that had been glassed by Covenant warships.Recon 111 reported to Commander Miranda Keyes that the Covenant Cruisers had found something within the crater they were digging.

Ok bungie and others reading why can't forge be better?? Like imagine making ai in games, or pelicans, or scarabs, editing the map itself, anything all in forge. Look making a forge like this would so fun and make the game last forever, like thousands of ppl are still playing halo ce today. This would also get rid of modding compeletly, becasue all that you could ever want is there. Then it would eleminate the ban hammer and attract many more people to play halo 3. You can even still have the same security for some things that shouldn't be done yet let us do those forge things. Or even a second disk to do all this and we could pay for it. Also it wouldnt be hard at all really i mean all you need is right there. So bungie please consider this option. Also ppl plz reply to keep this alive and help make this know.

Whoever said that forge wasn't going to be better?

Perhaps not on the scale you are thinking, but do remember that Forge in Halo 3 was first and foremost a weapon / vehicle / spawn editor and only later was adapted to create maps. Forge in Reach will be much better.

yeah and they have everything at there fingure tips to do this i think this would be an amazing idea and make this game make a huge impression adn last

He is right in a sense. AI for forge? Not happening. The AI for Campaign is programmed specifically for that encounter. There isn't some "generic grunt AI" that a spawned grunt can use to survive any situation. Especially in a forged area. The AI would be so terrible that it isn't worth putting them into the game in the first place.

Sure, its nice to try to create an amazing game, but there are deadlines, so you can only put in things that are realistic.

Ok look i know that i mean by ai is like no commands just like sitting clones but like, brutes, grunts ect.

ACTUALLY, the AI in multiplayer is not as farfetched as you would think. If a couple of basement Halo CE modders were able to do it and do it well, I am damned sure that Bungie could do it. They do have deadlines I agree, but the matter of the best game ever (which Halo Reach should be) is at stake here, and I believe Bungie should listen to their fans more often than not.

I would prefer this over the firefight that everyone wants all of a sudden... Firefight sucks, and forge has lead many players into having many more hours of gameplay... Hmm... Add to a proven thing, or to something that sucks...

Forget forge! I want a map maker, not an editor. Forges main purpose was to move stuff around and edit small parts of maps. If we get a map maker, fun will never end, because we have endless maps.

Okay, since a lot of you guys don't know what you're talking about, and I've been modding Halo CE for a while, I can tell you something:
In Halo CE, people have to make their own encounters, and reactions to the maps. You can't put Ai in and make them be like the campaign.
A map maker, to make maps like they are now in Halo 3 is also not possible, since they use 3d modelling programs on the pc to create the map geometry. You could make something like the the map maker in Far Cry, but thats it.
And, most importantly, if you have vehicle models, you cant just "duplicate the models and put them in forge and be able to fly/drive them". You do realise that phantoms, pelicans, scarabs etc are made for AI to be moved around? You would need to create an entire player vehicle, by adding controls, which aren't needed since the AI can take care of that (and the AI don't have controllers).

I could see that happening, but map making would become very complicated. In order to get a map onto your xbox, you would have to go through all of the steps necessary to make maps for actual games. This means you must have some experience with 3d modeling, and be able to do all of this

That's a step by step guide on how to make halo custom edition maps, btw. The only difference would be that you would have to upload your maps to bungie.net, and download them onto your xbox. I'm also pretty sure that these maps take up about 5 megabytes per map...so it would kill your memory.
