I think the field of view you had in halo 3 was waaaay too small. Even with a helmet, you can see at least 100 degrees. This lack of sight plus verticality in every single multiplayer map adds confusion.

And if you lag it's a cluster-blam!- of bull-blam!- stuck with crazy glue and then refrigirated and eaten in your breakfast cereal.

I know the limited field of view is for a better overall performance since it also determines what models and textures are loaded, but with lag, again, it can make things dissapear magically. Needs a sort of "grace zone" outside the field of view.

I'd like to see the field of view enlarged both horizontally and vertically.

Either that, or an alteration of map design that includes less verticality (which also means less work).

Any comments?

Field of View is normally how wide you can see in a first person game. The best way to explain this is to look at your Motion Tracker: you see the angle north of your character's dot on the map, that's slightly lighter a blue than the rest? That's representative of your field of view.

im no expert but ill try to explain. A field of view is like looking through a window. The closer you are to the window, the more you can see on the other side. In other words, as you get closer to the window, the field of view (or viewing angle) gets larger. Because TV's are not windows (not 3D), and they cant change depending on where the view sits, the designers must choose an angle.
