Light a log on fire and a man will be warm for the rest of the day. Light a man on fire, and that man will be warm for the rest of his life.

For all of you who agree that Halo Reach should have bosses, post ideas for bosses here.

Boss ideas:

Fighting the arbiter.

The arbiter in Halo 2 didn't get made the arbiter until Halo 2... guess how the one before him died?

---
Have the arbiter be shielded against regular bullets.

Give the arbiter the ability to jump high and get to really advantageous positions, and have him take fairly accurate shots at you with an accurate plasma rifle

He will send in waves of enemies, brutes(maybe), elites, honor guards, jackals, grunts that you have to deal with while trying to take cover from his fire. There will be spots safe from his fire that you can go to, but he will move around above you, making you not safe anymore.

To damage him, you have to knock him down with a plasma grenade (which will be considerably hard 'cause he will be jumping from point to point on platforms above you that you cant reach) .. he will then pull out a sword and swing at you (giving some sort of sign that he will swing, so it's possible for the player to block) and you have to block it.

The act of blocking his swing will stun him for a few seconds letting you beat the crap out of him until he comes to and jumps away for the process to repeat itself.

-----

If anything, I think Halo:Reach would need something like this.

Halo 2 got it right with the Heretic leader, killing the prophet, and the brute chieftain.

If anything scarabs need to be a bit more difficult:
Killing the reactor wont cause it to just explode, it'll deactivate the top turret which will enable you to blow it off and fire a rocket into there.

Just a little bit more to make the fight feel complete.

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

I am pretty sure the Arbiter in Halo Wars was the one immediately before the one in Halo 2/3. And he is already dead...

Yes, but keep in mind he was only the 17th Arbiter EVER, and the Arbiters have been a Covenant tradition since it's creation over 500 years before Halo CE. There is not way they would create THAT MANY ARBITERS all at once, if only 16 had existed in the 500 years between the creation of the Covenant, and the Covenant/UNSC war.

This discussion is directly related to Halo Reach and whether or not an Arbiter existed at that time, it belongs here. Also, Bungie Universe is meant to traverse all Bungie games aside from Halo, you know, the ones that DONT have their own forums.

Tank beats everything!

Visit my youtube channel for Vehicular awesomeness!

for those who have played Halo Wars, I think we should fight one of those giant scarabs that was being built. Halo technically has boss battles, but they are way to easy.

There are multiple Arbitors

Awesome isn’t just a word. Awesome is a way of life. Awesome is a way of war. Teamwork matters the most. Lone Wolves jeopardize the missions. Teamwork is key. Resistance is futile. The covenant fear us, not the other way around. We don’t fight for Earth. We don’t fight for Reach. We fight for the good of mankind because we are A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Alpha Wolf Elite Squadron Ordinary Mammals Electrocuted. Click the Homepage.

Archal: The Spartan ghost

He is part invisible, and sometimes, fully. He flys, teleports, and is about as hard to defeat as Guilty Spark in H3.

I like cheese more than you
Except Blue Stilton. That stuff is nasty. As is any cheese that contains stuff other than cheese

I like the Arbiter Idea
There definately was an Arbiter around that time.

Never been a fan of boss battles and they don't seem to fit Halo in my opinion.

What are you talking about? The Heretic Leader, and Regret were INSANELY hard on Legendary, Tartarus was REALLY hard unless you actually used the Banshee (cheaters)

No, you telling us to change forums is off topic, we were discussing whether or not an Arbiter should be a boss in Halo Reach, I say it shouldnt, he says it should, this is entirely related to this thread.

I think scarabs need another makeover, like the difference between Halo 2 and Halo 3
