Hey everyone! This is my very first submission into the B.net Gallery! I decided that I wanted to make Halo themed wallpapers for the Iphone, and thought, "Why not make some based on medals?" So, I took my best shot at it, and came up with This.
I'm really looking for some feedback, so please feel free to tell me what you think. If people really like it, I will definitely make some more! Thank you for your time!

What The Heck Is Assualt!?"

It was pretty good, not totally amazing, anyways did you make the background behind the hammers?

I sure did. I used custom brushes in Photoshop CS4.

Cool, I thought it was the most interesting thing, the rest seemed like copy/paste.

very nice background. i have to agree, not really a fan of the hammers you have there. if you are a more advance photoshop user, id recommend a more pencil-drawn look to it, i i think it would look good with hammers

If you want a more pencil look, try using filters:

Filters>Artistic

I was trying to make the Hammers look a little less glossy... Next time i'll spend more than an hour working on it. =] Thanks for the feedback!

The artistic feature did work okay, but it still didn't take away that glossy look... I really appreciate everyone's feedback! I will be working on another one early this week and will see what yall think of my improvements!

Oh, may I recommend you try a style similar to this?

Basically I am suggesting that you take whichever emblem you want to make a wallpaper out of, paste it onto a (really) dark blue, red, whichever color you want (I recommend blue) background.

Then what you do is you get a soft white brush, and paint it once onto a blank layer below the emblem, but above the background. Set the blending mode to Overlay.

Then, go to google, and get search for a paper/parchment texture, and paste it above everything, and set the blending mode to overlay as well.

From there, feel free to add anything you want, but I think the result would be really cool.

I'm definitely going to have to play around with this... I must say that I am impressed by your blending skills. =]
