whats an A.I.? (A.I.s are Bots, NPCs, your xbox):  0%

ive always thought Halo needs A.I. on multi player when i didn't have xbox live. i always have fun on games like Gears of war and perfect dark zero because i dont need real people, they can have A.I.s

people without online access always get half of the halo games because of no multi player. adding A.I.s to halo reach would boost it up so much it would be even awesomer. bungie could even add a function where if a player quit on matchmaking a multiplayer bot would replace him and if it took to much to find a player a bot would fill the spot.

another good idea is that you could modify the bots aptitude and play style (E.g. make him a sniper so he rushes for the weapon)

bungie could even make a Human vs bot playlist.
and in forge mode you could make the map while bots fight in it.

Halo without Bungie is like a cookie made without love.

why? because it would be easier to make a map?

See you on the battlefield.

Bots? Well, I guess it's possible, seeing as how Epic does it well with Unreal Tournament. As a matter of fact, they also seem to be able to host 32 player matches with little to no lag. Bungie, take note of this.

I like the ideas of bots replacing team quitters, but only if they are actually competent (aka not like the bots in campaign) because if they are bad then the quitter's team will be even worse off

You know you are running a hard course when your ears pop during the meet.-me

I think it worked well in Gears 2, I hope the devs at least gave it thought and looked into it.

  • 11.04.2009 6:09 PM PDT

It did work well, very well. Playing with the bots doesn't even lag.

You can never succeed if you never try.

This. Amazing idea.

It would be like a training method for Online play so it would help people. I think it would really give the game a great way for people who don't have live to experience the multiplayer of Halo.

  • 11.04.2009 6:37 PM PDT

that would be awesome. and you can change difficulty to legendary. and maybe turn on skulls for the bots

This.

i agree. when I didnt have live, the bots would have helped alot. the campaign was fun, yes, but after awhile, it got boring.

This thread is epic...

I say no. While the A.I. would be a good replacement in custom games and such, I don't think they belong in matchmaking. In gears 2, they could be fun but I really only had them on when I was first trying to learn the maps. It's fun to have target practice with live moving targets on the map, but they're nowhere near human players.

It would probably weigh you down if a team mate was replaced by one. The other team would just go for the bot since it would just be mindlessly running around.

The AIs would be so terrible it wouldn't even be funny.

AI might work with Gears of War because to put it bluntly the maps are pretty dang simple and the mechanics do not allow for a great range of mobillity. You have obvious areas where you know the AI can take cover and not get shot. The maps are small enough to keep things simple for the AI. Paths the they need to take to win are pretty obvious.

The same can't be said for Halo.

yes this is a great idea
because the people that don't have xbox live (like me) will get a challenge

About me:
I'm 20. I use to play Halo alot but never do really anymore. I'm a offline player since I have dial up. I do play online on rare events when I don't have to go to work, school, etc.

I wanted Ai in Halo since Halo CE.

I have dial up so the only time I get to play online is at friend's house when he or she dosen't have work or classes to go to.

I have all the Halo games (except Halo wars, still fun game) and I have always played them offline. I play more single player game such as Bioshock but I still love Halo because it is fun and it has the best splitscreen play out of any game.

I hate having dial up but playing Halo for the last 7 years offline is something most people couldn't bare to do but I still do. I can't get high speed internet where I live at so Ai would be freaking fun for me so I can get better without playing online every 2-3 weeks.

Express yourself!

The gears A.I. cant jump so that's one less thing to incorporate into the A.I. and also the maps are simple for them to maneuver because their small and enclosed unlike a lot of the maps in halo like Valhalla.

It would be nice to have bots. Just to try and even up the odds in a Multiplayer game when your team starts to quit.

Yes, maybe not for online multiplayer, but for ppl without the net. I remember havin CE and being shocked there was no bots, 4v4 can be fun but i liked big games, and didnt really, have enough ppl with xboxs to have a 4 way system link.

In the poll u have said that you XboX is an A.I. i have to disagree there, in what way is ur xbox intelligent? It functions like any other computer, Input - Process - Output, ai is sumthing that exhibts intelligence, a robot that learns for example.

  • 11.05.2009 3:56 AM PDT

What difficulty would you have them set to, to be a challenge online? Heroic, Legendary? And they'd have to be hell of smart to replace quitter, cause then they could end up going out and getting themselves killed a lot too. And bringing you team down, even faster.

THE BOT THAT REPLACES THE LEAVED PLAYER WOULD ONLY PROVIDE KILLS FOR THE OTHER TEAM BECAUSE THE HALO A.I. IS DUMP AS A COW....
