In Halo 2 should marines be able to drive vehicles? Not like in E3 2003 where they had a set path like in Bond games but be able to drive according to the specific situation.
I don't know if most people know this, but in Halo CE marines were able to drive the ghosts around, even though they were stupid and always got blow up by covenant tanks.

That would take ENDLESS space, it would be like creating a whole new MC.

And in regular halo not just halo CE they could drive ghosts.

They will drive around at leisure if they dont have any checkpoints to go to I think.

I don't get it, Halo CE is Halo Combat Evolved. At least that's what i call it.

it would probably complicate things, I like the idea of driving with a marine in the drivers seat but only with scripted events...waht if you did the silent cartagropher with a marine driving and no script? it wouldnt work

I call the original Halo, just Halo, and the others like PC and Mac..

But anyway.

Even though in Halo, they were horrible drivers in ghosts, but they have better AI, so their driving is better now.

true but what about in huge battles like at the end of Two Betrayals. It would be cool if you were suddenly outnumbered and about to die when a -blam!-load of marines with tanks and jeeps came plowing in from behind and blowing -blam!- up.

ok, a guy from bungie explained it to us in one post. if you want me to find it, it'll take awhile.

the marines have a waypoint they have to go to. they basically decide the best way to get to the waypoint. if they want the marines to drive down an alley or something, they put a waypoint there. the more waypoints there are, the less freedom marines have on deciding which way to go. i'll go find that post, now.

Yes shishka wrote that. He wrote about how the more checkpoints there are, the more constricted the route is. If theres a checkpoint to reach every metre then its going to be really scripted while if theres no checkpoints at all the marines will drive where they want without having to go to any checkpoints.

Unless bungie is very good at path AI I don't look forward to marines driving, I've had some bad experiences with path AI.

You know what -blam!- you. You don't have to read the thread if you don't want to it. Stop being such an uptight -blam!-. Your not in charge of the forums, don't act like it. Your're just another little -blam!- to everyone else. Sorry, I don't spend my life looking at every single -blam!-in piece of Halo 2 information. Sorry, I didn't mean to disgrace this forum with my lacking knowledge. Why don't you just shut the -blam!- up.
