Subject: What's the deal with Blood Glutch?

when i played it it was my favorit map. everything was perfectly balanced. tanks cant easily go on rampages unless the other team is horrible. everything that can drive is usefull in the game .

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

Wrong post dude.

Blood Gulch talk has been going around for a good while now on the Reach forums, and this topic is based on why so many people are obsessed with the damn map.

-blam!- GTFO OF MY SIGNATURE

Have any of you haters ever played a LAN party back when LAN was the only thing we could do to get some decent multiplayer? If you have, then you would understand why Blood Gulch was so awesome. It is an incredibly simple map, just two bases opposite each other in a box canyon, and the gameplay on it was great. My first vehicular battles were played on it and a big team battle on it was just epic.

To me, Blood Gulch was one of the many things that I immediately associated with Halo when I thought of Halo. I vote that Bungie just bring it back in Halo:Reach and polish it up, gameplay wise, to please the Fans.

Yeah, I played LAN parties with my friends when we could get enough xbox's together. I just...never liked the map that much. Coags hog wars was fun I will admit, but for the purpose of Halos FPS playstyle, I enjoyed Valhalla more.

Blood Gulch was the most fun map I've ever played to this day- a good... what is it? 8 years later?
I miss it. I'd like it back. It was truly simple in its design yet I have never not had a fun game on it.

So that's how it is. You all ought to know better than that.

I think Blood Gulch was one of the things that made Halo what it is today. When Halo first came out, few people were sure how a large, open, symetrical map like blood gulch would work. It was the testing ground for large, open, vehicle based maps. (you could probably say the same for sidewinder). Blood Gulch was the map that inspired Valhalla.

Perhaps Blood Gulch was ahead of its time.
