Subject: Which spartan team do you think will be in Reach?

Don't ban me, I followed rules!

Poll closing in 1 hour!

I don't know. I'm not even convinced that all of them on the banner are Spartans even.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

Spartans present at Reach.

As of debrief: the Master Chief and 24 others, total 25. These are all the surviving Spartans (33 survived augmentation, 3 KIA including Sam, 3 too distant to be recalled to Reach [Grey Team]) from the Chief's generation.

As of invasion: the Master Chief and 29 others, total 30. The 5 new Spartans added to the roster have unknown origins: some theories say that they are from a Class 2, or perhaps even some of the supposed "wash-outs" secretly being taken to fight covert ops missions behind enemy lines, their augmentation-caused deaths faked by ONI.

Chief splits Spartans into two teams: Blue and Red. Blue is composed of the Chief, Linda, and James. Red consists of everybody else.

In space, James is MIA and Linda is KIA. Chief recovers her body with the help of Johnson, Jenkins, and their squad, and returns to the PoA.

On the ground, 4 Spartans (Malcolm and 3 unnamed) are KIA upon impact after falling from their disabled Pelican. Fred splits Red Team into four splinter teams: Alpha, Beta, Gamma Delta.

Alpha consists of Fred, Kelly, Joshua.
Beta consists of 11 unnamed Spartans.
Gamma consists of Anton, Li, Grace.
Delta consists of Will, Isaac, Vinh, and 3 unnamed Spartans. The members of this team were all crippled in the drop.

Alpha: Joshua is KIA in the process of nuking a Covenant ship amassing troops below it (10,000). Fred and Kelly regroup at CASTLE Base.

Beta: Remain behind to defend the orbital defense grid generators. Unknown fate.

Gamma: The 3 Spartans rescue the highest ranking officer (Admiral Whitcomb) on Reach, and conduct hit-and-run geurilla tactics on the Covenant.

Delta: Will, Isaac, Vinh make it to CASTLE base but lose the 3 unnamed cripples in the process. They regroup with Fred and Kelly, and head into the Forerunner complex.

A week later, the Chief returns from Halo and meets Gamma and Whitcomb, and then head to the Forerunner complex to rescue the others. Isaac and Vinh are MIA after collapsing a column to try and isolate themselves from the massing Covenant infantry.

This is the known story about what happens with the Spartans on Reach. What we see in REACH will most likely be a NEW story, and since S-259 could ONLY have been a member of Splinter Teams Beta or Delta, and Delta were crippled, we will be playing as 5 survivors from Team Beta.

Possibly the same 5 Spartans which were added to the group between the debrief on the mission and the invasion of Reach.

Well played cheehwawa, you deserve a medal for copying and pasting all that stuff (not sarcastic).

I wrote it from memory. Copy/paste is irrelevant. I am a machine.

About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

Probably alone on this, Spartan Team Omega anybody?

If you are a "machine" then... what are you doing responding to random -blam!- on bungie.net? Unless you're a MEELEE unit or whatever it is... -_-

The other SPARTAN-IIs we never learned much about. We know what happened to every other Spartan. There's a few of the first batch of SPARTAN-IIs trapped with the remaining SPARTAN-IIIs of Gamma and Dr. Halsey in a Forerunner thingy in the center of Onyx. Master Chief is actually MIA, and the rest are all dead but reported as MIA.

Wherever you roam
so far from home
you'll be safe from peril
life threatening and terrible
if you avoid David Powel
and keep track of your towel.

I don't see why anyone would think that it's anything but a team of hitherto unknown Spartans. That is fictionally loosest after all.

Then again I am quite intelligent . . .

(and egotistic apparently)

Don't forget Sierra-230. Pay close attention to the FLEETCOM chatter in the Reach trailer to hear her. She's the Asian-sounding voice. James also might be in the trailer as there's a chunk of debris near the broken UNSC ship which upon closer inspection, could be a Spartan closer to our perspective than the ship.

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

Got Halo questions? You found the answers.
<3 the DMR

It will be red team on the surface unless they go into the events of first strike. Any orbital battles will be fought with John and linda aka Blue team.

Honest guess, we will be playing as Fred.

Will we see more than 1 spartan? I would have to say yes.
Who?
Well, not Sam, not Kurt, not Fjahad (or however its spelt), not Cassanda, maria, or any of the III generation. And definately more, but im lacking my books as my girlfriend borrowed them >.<

and how!

I hope we get to see into a squad we haven't heard about before. We already know what happens to Blue Team thanks to the book series, but there were 16 Spartans on Reach, I believe 11 or 12 we know nothing about. Let's explore a new story, no?

Can't Bungie pull a George Lucas and simply make the game how they themselves want? It is their world after all. Yes they ok'd books to be written about the topic but that doesn't force them to follow what someone else decided.

Since I've never read the fiction I would be totally fine with them doing whatever they want as far as story.

... Ok... how's that working out for you?

"One down, fifty billion to go"

Does anyone else think that the "Spartan" on the left of the banner looks alot like an Elite?
It is taller than the Spartans afterall, which are 7 feet tall.

  • 11.06.2009 9:56 PM PDT

Don't ban me, I followed rules!

Shut up dead grunt, it's distance/shadowing. Not an elite.

"One down, fifty billion to go"

I express my opinion like what was asked and get abused as a result. This is how great the Bungie community is, no really, its THAT awesome.
