Subject: Betraying for weapons idea

I have no signature... exept for this one...

I got this idea by reading through the ideas and thoughts people want to be in Reach, and I thought of the anoying BK's betraying you for the PWs and all that.
I don't know if this is going to work in MM!

Do you get tired of people on your team betraying you for the Sniper Rifle all the time? Well, there are two ways to solve this: Either disable betraying, or the guy who betrayed you can't pick up either ammo nor your weapon?

Tell me what you guys think!

SAS Halo 3

I was thinkin the same thing.

GREAT IDEA.

They need to not be able to pick the weapon up if they have betrayed the weapon carrier.

Accidents happen, but this is a good idea.

the second, but only for the weapon, ammo should remain open.

My third montage!

disabling betrayals is a bad idea because then people will team kill with no repercussions, it wouldn't even be about "OMG HE HAZ MAH SNYPERZ!" To many games would descend into team killing.

The best way to deal with a power weapon betrayal is to find that person, help them die. Then pick up the sniper and waste the ammo. I usually do this while standing over their dead body, leaving one round left in it. I then drop the sniper and go about my business.

Its a trap!!!

well if I am playing with my friends I don't want him no to pick up my weapon if he accidentally betrays me. I don't want the other team to pick it up. And it could of been avoided if he was allowed too.

Accidents like that are a little less frequent but I think it will be stupid. I would just rather find teamates who are nice to play with and avoid the ones who betray..although avoiding doesnt always work it will seem

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

the guy who betrayed you can't pick up either your ammo nor your weapon.

i want this aswell but teammates could just walk past and take your weapon you just worked hard for to get so maybe the other person you want to trade with has to press rb aswell then you can swap

that's what I thought this thread was about reading the title.

also another thought on the whole betrayal thing. say theres a guy on the map, pit. hes camping somewhere and you wanna kill em.... "guys go grab some sticky grenades. stick me and ill run around the corner and be a suicide bomber!" 10 seconds later... "FOR ALLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

What if the game can read if the betrayal was unintentional or intentional. So if the player killed you in purpose you would have the ability to boot him.

How's that? Better than not being able to pick up your teammates weapons.

When I spawn under a base with an AR and theres a guy top mid and pink 3 with BRs im like so happy because it gives me a chance to adapt and play for fun.

Im pretty sure if they could design AI so advanced that it could detect intent bungie would not be in the business of making games.

Wow...Worst.Idea.Ever. Seriously? C'mon. You think that they would get rid of betraying? And the "no weapon or ammo pick-up" idea is ridiculous aswell. What if i accidentally kill someone and then fancy taking their weapon afterwards? If someone betrays you, let them do it again and then kick them; it's as simple as that.

Look out.... -boom- (headshot)
I told you to look out, but know, you got in my way, was going to shoot that splaser....

So, you think a team that has a TKer deserves to lose points and ,most likely, lose slayer maps?

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

Or, they die if they pick up the weapon.

  • 11.06.2009 5:50 AM PDT

An easier thing to do is to map it so you spawn with the weapon when you get betrayed. But then people will exploit that and have their team mate betray them when they get a power weapon so the respawn with it in some random spot.

There is nothing wrong with Halo:Reach. We all just have our gripes about everything we don't like. Not liking something doesn't make it broken.

I desire this:

- Weapon trading - Just like Campaign, only requires both parties to stand still. Works with Ball/Flag/Skull.

- Betrayal lock - When a player betrays you, they are unable to pick up the weapon you dropped for 30 seconds. More then enough time to return to it yourself, or for him to be put in harms way. This goes for Flag/Skull/Bomb as well. If a player betrays you, he can't pick it up.

Sound good? I like it. It would work more often then not in my opinion.
