Yeah that will run it no problem except for the bad coding in halo 2 vista where you get some bad tearing in parts despite the quality of your computer. Other computers to check out for the 1000 dollar range are Asus G series laptops cause mine runs just about anything at max settings plus comes with a two year global warranty and a year of accidental damage for free from Asus. Got to love quality brands.

Thanks, but I'm still looking for some other computers, this is just one I've found.O and will Halo 2 Vista run on Windows 7(supposedly does, not sure)

I would think that would run it but their are more powerful ones that could run even better

Pass the controller bro

It might overheat very quickly though.

I think that $1000 should cover any gaming laptop but as previously mentioned, overheating could be a small issue.

Why is the overheating an issue(Is there a solution to it)?
Also, as said above, will Halo 2 run on windows 7?

Hmm, it seems that there are very few people on here that are computer literate...

That computer will run the game, but not at the highest specs (at least not well). You're on the right track, looking for laptop with a dedicated graphics card, but just as there are different levels of performance for desktop graphics cards, there are also different levels for laptops.

The G210m in that computer is NOT designed for high end gamming (no matter what GFWL might make you think). The main purpose of that laptop even having the 210m is so that it can play full resolution 1080p HD video without lag or stuttering.

The 210m only has 16 processing cores, and a miserable 64bit memory interface. And it has a total computing power of roughly 72 gigaflops. Not even NVidia (the manufacturer of the chip) makes any claim to its gamming potential (because there is none).

All and all, for the price you are looking at paying (roughly $1,000.00) you are getting very little for your money, and paying a price premium because of where you buy.

If you want a (fairly) good gaming laptop (sub $1,000) look at these:

All three of those laptops have the GT240m, which offers 48 processing cores, a 128bit memory interface, and 174 gigaflops of FPU processing power. All of that simply means that you will get roughly 3-4 time better performance in games.

If you want to save a little money, you can even look at these sub $750 laptops:

Each one of those has the GT130m GPU, which is still more than twice as powerful as the G210m.

The long and short of it is this, NVidia classifies the 210m as "Mainstream", while classifying the 240m and the 130m as "Performance". Which one do you think is going to be better for games?...

Actually I would look for a computer with the 9800M GS, GT or GTS or a Nvidia 260M GTX cause those would both out perform the 24OM GTX. I apologize for my first comment since I didn't not realize the 210 was a mainstream graphics card. Just did some more research. Again I still recommend the Asus G series cause the new G51 is $999 and has 4GB of ram, a core 2 duo at 2.26 ghz and comes with overclocking software that can be used in the OS and clocks the processor up to 2.49 ghz though that would be unnecessary. It also contains the Nvidia 260M GTX and can be found at any Best Buy or on Newegg or Amazon.
