Don't look at me, im hideous.

Its one thing to lock a topic about some one whineing or blurting hurtful messages, but when some one posts leeked info thats taking it too far.
When you lock a topic that has leaked info, your pretty much saying "YEA THIS IS REAL, STFU". A simple thing to do; Ignore it and pretend to laugh at the topics. People will eventualy forget that topic ever existed.

Its stated in the rules to not talk about, or show any possible leaked material. So, even if the pictures are fake, they still have to lock the topics.
For all we know, they are fake. Until Bungie speaks about the matter, that is.

clever but I think this thread might end up a bit screwed. You probably are right though.

Psh. But the thing is. They have to be real. Like, why can't they just come out and make an official statement, "These image are not from Halo: Reach" then it would be the end of that. But no, they don't, so that must mean something

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

Why wouldnt they lock topics about photos that were not suppose to get out?

Thats like saying the government shouldnt shut down a site because it has top seceret photos of a hidden Air Force Base. It is their property that was stolen in a way, they can not stop it completely but they can stop it from being put on their site.

Even if they are not real it would be locked cause they are marked leaked. They are locking them cause it has a false title, no matter how you look at this, they deserve to lock anything that mentions it.

Like I keep saying, if some one who owns that company or is from it deletes somthing that has that info, thats telling every one that its real. The governments doesnt do that though, they ignore everything and say its fake.

i hate many people, i am also like many of those people... that makes me a hypocrite
join the:

this person is just stating a fact about the harshness of reality, we all live under someone else's rules, obviously we could protest about them, but that would then lead to stupid things like some psychopath protesting against murder, it's bet not to protest against the rules unless you're in a position of power, or greater numbers, in fact i'm having fun with not mentioning any possibly leaked information that may or may not be real, and yeah, the rules are there for a reason, on here it's communist, the reason is that if you complain, you will be ban-hammered!

I was using the government as an example. And just cause they delete it does not mean its real.

I believe one rule is something similar to "Do not post a thread with a misleading title". If they are not real, its a misleading title, therefore it should be locked, not that hard to figure out.

I like how you think you can make posts that are questioning the rules. THE RULES SAY YOU CAN'T POST LEAKED ITEMS! Weather it's real or fake, it gets locked.

Im not protesting or anything, I just think the way bungie covers things up is stupid. Locking a topic with leaked info and saying nothing about it gets every ones attention.

I like how you try to act mature and post sentences with caps lock on. Most people dont read the rules, most people dont check the rules every day on bungie when they log on. They see a locked topic with info, they go crazy.

Leaked information doesn't always come out to be true. Moderators ban the information either way.

  • 11.06.2009 3:43 PM PDT

Lol, wait for the weekly update, thats when they generally discuss things like this if they need to be addressed. They could be real, they could be fake, no one really knows but bungie and whoever took the pictures.

  • 11.06.2009 3:44 PM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

Real or not, anything being passed off as leaked material will be removed and the poster will be met with a stiff ban. Bungie prefers not to have leaked material on their company website. It's not about "covering it up" because both Bungie and the community know that it's elsewhere on the Internet. Bungie just chooses not to have it on their site. You can call it a confirmation of authenticity if you like, but the fact remains that nothing has outright been confirmed until you see a Bungie employee say so (forum ninjas are not employees.)

Another reason this policy exists is because things such as leaked magazine scans are copyrighted and are not to be distributed as such until the magazine hits store shelves. Obviously that's not the case here, but it's a general policy.
