If the Source engine can do it, why can't Halo?

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

Please don't double post. Do you truly want to record the voices of the morons who populate Xbox Live?

Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks you're a twat.

with most people not having very big HDD it wouldnt be very good to make the file sizes to big because of the extra audio file

I'd like to be half-man half-tree in an octopus' garden in the shade.

Someone can make a documentary. It'd be called, "The Dumbest of the Dumb" and it'd be about how Halo has the strange effect of attracting morons and idiots alike.

Halo probably can do it, but that doesn't mean it should. Maybe there can be an option to play the voice chat recording or not to... because I would be pissed if in the middle of my awesome film clip some kid starts screaming or making annoying sounds.

I'll be on my own side.

The game saves clips by using the game engine to replay the game. It's not saving video per se, which is why the file sizes are so small, and why we're allowed to upload and download using the File Share as much as we like, and while playing.

Voice chat does not use the game engine, meaning the files would be huge because it has to record the actual sound, not tell the game engine to play a sound that's already on the disc.

If anything, please make it an option. And make it default to "No".

Pretty much this. Even though it could probably be done (voice chat is extremely compressed, so file size would probably only be prohibitive in very large films), it wouldn't be able to record party chat, and until larger hard drives are standard, too many of these recording would fill up a hard drive fast.
