Subject: So, Is Halo's story plot completely dead after Reach?

Well, as you know Reach is the last game bungie are making in the Halo franchise (don't blame em, 10 years is a long time to work on a single franchise). So, now that microsoft have the rights to Halo, they are going to do what they do best, and milk it for every pence they can get. This meas Halo games left right and center. Whats going to stop incredibly stupid things happening to the Halo plot? the Halo bible probs wont even be considered anymore.

Ah, i know this was a ramble, im pretty sure i have at least a few things wrong but im just speculating.

Do you think that the Halo lore and canon is just going to go haywire after reach?

I hope it just stops after Reach.

I really, really do.

halo 3: odst 2.. takes place on the ark :)?

  • 11.06.2009 6:09 PM PDT

Halo Wars indicates that other companies are not necessarily inclined to heed the story bible religiously. There is a risk, but who knows how it turns out? Frank O'Conner is one of the story guys working at 343 Industries, and he was a previous Bungie employee. I'm hoping he can keep them straight. But if Microsoft has other companies make Halo games simultaneously, who knows if they can be kept in line?

I'm sorry, but as long as it sells it will never "stop". They will not "stop" making money, as that is Re Todd Edd.

After Halo, naa they arn't going to make Halo 2.
After Halo 2. No, the stories finished theres no way a halo 3.
After Halo 3, no -blam!- way it's a trilogy which means 3
After ODST, oh Reach is comming out next year?
After Reach, No theres no way they are going to make a Halo 4!

As much as Bungie and some fans wouldn't want it to End after Reach. i think they should stop making any Halo related games, but perhaps help create movies.

I really just would love halo to end after Reach and have Bungie make something new.

Maybe it would be cool if they came back to it after a few years for the nostalgia of the longtime fans.

With that logic they should stop making Call of Duty games as well. How many do they have? let us count:

Call of Duty
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty 7
Call of Duty: United Offensive
Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory
Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized
Modern Warfare 2: Ghost

woah, and people are still buying them?

Compare times between Halo 1, Halo2, Halo 3, and Reach. They were all released a "few years" from eachother for the "longtime fans"...idiots.

Halo Wars follows the Halo Bible religiously. Everything that occurs is technically plausible in the Halo Universe.

The basic logic of the universe.... well, that's not in the halo bible.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare became just Modern Warfare 2

Halo 3: ODST becomes just ODST 2

I can see it happening, ODST 3 too

and Reach 2 and 3

and Halo: SpecOps

In response to DESOLATOR_IV:

After Halo 2, EVERYONE expected a Halo 3.

Masterchief was left on High Charity and said he was going to "finish the fight". Could they have made it any more obvious that there was going to be a Halo 3? Everyone wanted him to "finish the fight."

I expect and hope that after Halo Reach, they have...

- Halo CE REMASTERED (just fixed glitches and 360 features like Live)
- Halo 4 aka Marathon (proving that I, along with many others were right that the Halo and Marathon series was tied together
-- The Marathon series to be milked as much as the Halo series had been and everyone will love it.

- Maybe an ODST 2

  • 11.06.2009 6:50 PM PDT

We still have 27 years between the Battle of Harvest and the events of Halo 3. Many battles happened during that time.

  • 11.06.2009 6:51 PM PDT

I just want a remake of Halo:CE and a new trilogy with the chief :) and maybe ODST 2 and Halo Wars 2....oh and don't forget the HALO MOVIE !!!!!!!!!

Thats all I want.

To mangazo15...

Yeah, the new trilogy could easily be a reboot of Marathon - Halo 4, 5, and 6.

Early, early on Jason Jones had mentioned how John 117 is supposed to be Johnny from Marathon. The end of Halo 3 is roughly 200 years before Marathon. At the end of Halo 3, Masterchief went in chryosleep. He could have easily slept for 200 years. That's where that mystery planet comes in from the end of Halo 3. It's Marathon.

I could probably go for an ODST 2. More than anything though, I want a 360 appearance of Halo CE.

  • 11.06.2009 7:19 PM PDT

yeah I heard that theory before that marathon could lead to halo 4... but I tried playing the game to get in to the history or story line, but god I freaking pucked from motion sickness 5 minutes in.

Any one know what marathon is about?

all I know is that there is zombies and they bad.

Don't ban me, I followed rules!

I think they should support the Halo: Custom Edition and make the maps thirty times bigger than coldsnap. Halo fans will have their big toys (pelis, longswords, scarabs, seraphs, ect.) and Bungie will have lots of DLCs for it. And with that "Architect" thing some people are talking about, it could get some really good custom made maps from expert forgers. I think that a Halo 3: Custom Edition would be better than the original custom edition. Bungie should put out a beta and then at the start of 2011 they release the game if people liked it. (Hopefully I don't get banned for this post.) People could customize their entire set of armor, make huge maps, play on huge maps, create new vehicles (No jets! They're for noobs!), and play through the entire campaign from Halo Wars to Halo 4 (if they make one.). I'll put up a poll for this if I can and they don't shoot me down and warn/ban me.

  • 11.06.2009 7:32 PM PDT

they should make a remake of the trilogy from covenant point of view..improved graphics, the whole shebang
