G-Bread

I just got this pm
Congrats Gray Bread, you have been selected to participate in Pre-Beta Halo Reach. Please do not tell anyone about this, because if you do the super secret forum ninjas will strike. You would be IP banned from the forums and will be disabled from the Reach Pre-Beta. Your redemption code is 5GFK9-A4STU-Q3RKM-1MATV-0LPSU. Conrats!
Is that a phish?

PS I'm not trolling, this just happened to me

I wish I was still legendary.

It's not a phish, but a troll.

Seriously. Put that code in your 360 and see for yourself.

You enter that code.Goodbye GrayBread.
Maybe it is a way for them to hack you bro.

This could be real but I highly doubt it. Bungie would contact you via email for something of such importance.

I'll be on my own side.

Yeah, entering a false code into Microsoft's system is a way for someone else to hack you. Makes perfect sense, if you ignore that logic stuff.

Gaming Rig Specs:
Coolermaster HAF X // XFX Pro 850W XXX PSU // Corsair 16GB Vengeance RAM (1600MHz) //
Corsair 120GB Force GT SSD // Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB HDD // Intel i7 3770k CPU //
MSI Z77A-GD65 Mainboard // MSI GTX 680 Twin Frozr III OC Edition Graphics Card -- Runs BF3 on ultra at anywhere from 60FPS to 130+FPS.

The code has a 0 in it, thus it is fake.

Make a new account and do it on that one maybe? And read what you'll get from it, before click download or whatever.

Hey, I know you! You stood on top of a dropship!

Regardless, as has been said by everyone SMART here, there's no way that can be a phish but also no way it can be real.

How does a 0 make it invalid? Forgive my ignorance, but I don't get how those codes work.

  • 11.06.2009 7:00 PM PDT

Good, bad, I'm the guy with the clichéd lines.

You've been troll'd son.

  • 11.06.2009 7:01 PM PDT

"I'm like SuperMan! I know when I'm needed!"

So we dont enter no codes from anybody but Bungie or Microsoft themselves. Because it would really suck if your a General and someone hacks your account ( which someone might do to me [ but im not even close to general] ) and made you start ALL over.

I'm 90% sure that Microsoft no longer issue codes with Os and 0s in them, because they can cause a lot of confusion. Sbleh.

G-Bread

Bump, but need help on situation

  • 11.06.2009 7:11 PM PDT

ISU Cyclones!

Maybe the plot was to enter the code, get the error, and hope the OP would pm back saying it didn't work.

In which case he could then ask for his account info claiming to help unlock it. Then... THE HAAAAX!

  • 11.06.2009 7:11 PM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

I repeat, NOTHING can happen by entering that code. Someone sent you some bull-blam!- so you'd waste time trying to figure out what it is. Apparently, they succeeded.

How you guys think that entering a random code into Microsoft's secure system can compromise your account is beyond me.
