I'd like to think that with all the incredibly intricate writing Bungie does, that no "wonky" lines slip through the cracks. So assuming they intend every single word they use, what the hell does this mean...

End of the first level....

"If I STILL had fingers, they'd be crossed".

When did Cortana, a pure AI construct EVER have fingers?

Yes, I think originally, according to the books which I have not read; she was once a person. Or it could be referring to the holographic version.

No....its because before she was taken off the bridge, she had holographic fingers. Once she was in the cheifs helmet, she no longer had fingers, she was merely a "computer program" so to speak.
