I see many topics about "oh why isn't stuff much more advanced 500+ years in the future, why are we still using bullets?"

Well if ya use some common sense you'd realize that there could easily have been multiple world wars, plagues, asteroids?, etc that set back humanity a few hundred years. Theres no way every technology would comeback and evolve at the exact same time as the others, so that's why ya got super duper space ships, yet still assault rifles. The end

True, but if you look five hundred years into the past, it's hard to imagine a future with guns that operate the same way guns do now. Even if they were still simply using simple explosive projectiles.

Well weapons could've been extrmemely advanced at one point, so a huge war with ultra advanced weapons could essentially send us back into the Dark Ages
