Do u think Firefight will b better in Halo: Reach? such as getting matched up with random players

maybe, but Reach might not have Firefight (unless somewhere it says it does, and I didn't read it)

Its a trap!!!

hopefully a flood firefight. Maybe that and MM on seperate disc from campaign. Because I dont want campaign to be short

I was playing the last level on H3 on legendary and I was thinking how an odst would get destroyed fighting all those flood. So if they make it with spartans vs flood would be nice and to see the flood juggernaught make an appearance. Not that is a true boss

I'm interested in helping out with map testing films for Atlas or Test Pilot members. Specifically, being a player not recording for Youtube or other such websites.

:p

If they do bring firefight back then they'll hopefully use a different server type because, unless the host has like a 100mbps connection, the delay on actions after you press a button can get you killed which isn't really fair. I assume that will be changed since it's a whole new engine.

Firefight matchmaking would be cool if it had filters which would of course mean they'd have to implement a new rank system or at least have search options to limit or widen the possibility of finding who you want.

Also, other than fixing connection I hope the way it plays is a little different. Not that I don't like Firefight but too many games are coming out with horde-like modes and they're all the same.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Problem 1: Set structure and difficulty
In ODST we already see 20+ hour Firefight matches. Many people need to play for hours to beat their previous records. In addition many are saying the game is too easy and won't get any more difficult once you get to set 5. People quit because they're bored or have to do something else. You can also get more lives than you lose which takes survival out of "survival mode"

Solution: Change the set structure. Remove or reduce the amount of unnecessary Rounds. Make it 5 waves = 1 set. Every 3rd or 5th Set you get an ammo drop and a new skull. This couldn't create any problems as the game can have "infinite sets", up to 1000 perhaps. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the Bonus Rounds either, they don't have any point because you can have as many Grunts normally as well. To make the game more difficult, remove or reduce the amount of extra lives majorly. You only get 7 lives and maybe 1 more for every 1 million points.

Result: People are more equally divided on sets. You could compare it to Matchmaking when some people have only reached Set 5 and some are on 50s. Less lives directly makes matches shorter and more difficult, brings in the survival into survival mode.

Problem 2: Lacking Haloverse
There is no Scorpion, there is no Banshee, there isn't even an officially driveable Wraith. There is no Flood, there are no Sentinels. You can't even see a Chopper and a Ghost at the same time on 1 map. You don't ever get AI allies either.

Solution: Simply add more maps that support multiple playstyles or only have a few maps (small, on-foot, Covenant) like in ODST. An example map list:
1. Small: Players vs Covenant
2. Medium: Players VS Covenant
3. Big: Players VS Covenant
4. Small: Players VS Flood
5. Big: Players VS Flood
6. Medium: Players VS Sentinels
7. Big: Players VS Covenant and Flood
8. Medium: Players VS Flood and Sentinels
9. Medium: Players VS Covenant and Sentinels
10. Huge: Players VS Covenant, Flood and Sentinels
Only 10 maps with a ton more variety than the ODST Firefight maps have.
The different races (Covenant, Flood, Sentinels) would battle with each other a little, but focus on the players like they do in Combat Evolved. AI would also priorize bigger and smaller threats. If you only try to avoid fighting, you won't get any points.
You would also get AI ally reinforcements differently on each map. On some you don't get them at all, on some you only get a few, on some you get them quite a lot; on some they are real marines, on some they are weaker police or alike.

Result: Bring all the Halo in Firefight. All the characters, weapons, vehicles and allies. They are what makes Halo. Firefight isn't canonical so having Flood even if Reach campaign doesn't have it is possible.

Problem 3: Connectivity
You need to play with friends and can't join ongoing games.
Solution: Add Matchmaking and ability to join ongoing games. The latter can't ruin anything if you can only join Open matches, your score starts from 0 and the team won't get extra lives.
Result: Matchmaking makes Firefight big and easy to access. Joining matches allows people to party up comfortably, although you probably can't reach great high scores like it.

TL;DR conclusion:
1. Remove Rounds
2. Less to none extra lives
3. Add all weapons, vehicles, enemies and allies
4. Matchmaking
