A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

Cool story bro.

How? You need the mythic disk with midship to play MLG now. The only way to get that is to buy ODST. Why cant it be a content download like every other map pack has been?
I don't know when Mythic Map Pack 2 will be released on Marketplace OP, ask Microsoft! They don't plan to. Trust me.

Thats because Bungie is greedy. THats why this world is a mess. People and companies only care about there self. This is why Im very upest with Bungie. I think the only way they could make it up to me would be give me Reach for free. With all the money I have wasted with map downloads, and to buy all the maps again with the ODST crappy add-on game to continue to play halo 3 took the cake for me.

You should actually be blaming Microsoft then. Bungie doesn't decide prices, release dates, map pack prices and releases or anything along those lines, Microsoft decides all these things.
Bungie just makes the game. ODST was pretty good for a game that was made in a year. Yes it has a full campaign but it was not meant to be a full stand alone game.

LMFAO Cookie....i agree......you claim to hate bungie and feel betrayed but yet where are you??? Right, your opinion is fact and every one thinks like you.

Good, bad, I'm the guy with the clichéd lines.

1. I always think it's funny when people use the recession as a way to bash someone. As if everyone is supposed to sell at super discounted prices right now because someone you don't know lost their job.

2. ODST was not a full game. Microsoft are the people to blame for it's price on this one. Regarding Bungie they just wanted to make a story revolving around ODST and that's what they did. And they did a good job of it.

3. Closed betas are pretty standard. And most console games don't even have a closed or open beta. The only time I really hear of there being an open beta is in a MMO.

4. They have to be careful about what information they release, because if they say they're adding something and then decide to take it out later fans can (and usually) get upset.

5. MW2 doesn't look like it'll be as good as MW1 (from what I can tell). They added so much crap into MW2 that it looks like it's just gonna be a cluster-blam!-.

'In this recession we are in, why must they do this?'
Because 'we' is also bungie, they're in it to, they need the money to continue delivering games.

  • 11.07.2009 2:59 PM PDT

I agree with the OP.

People have set their standards way too low.

If people on here saying ODST was awesome and can rationalize the mythic 2 not being a download, they are just way too deep into MS or Bungie or whoever is in charge's pocket.

The real person to blame in all this is whoever decided to sell Halo to MS, because the product has gotten worse and worse, and the prices have gone up.

  • 11.07.2009 3:13 PM PDT

One problem here. direct quote from your OP. "that you cant even find a match in cuz none of my friends play it." So i cannot find a game because YOUR friends don't play it. interesting.

  • 11.07.2009 3:17 PM PDT

Microsoft put the price tag on, not bungie.

  • 11.07.2009 3:20 PM PDT

Either way MW2 betrayed its PC gamers just the same. They took out dedicated servers and replaced them with client-hosted matchmaking (the same fail thing Halo does on XBL,) which is pretty much the most fail thing you could with a PC game.

It doesn't matter. The Beta isn't something you need to have anyways.

I can stand watching vids of it on youtube and buying the game when it comes out.

I think the OP doesn't know that ODST wasn't supposed to be a completly new Halo game in the first place.
But what does that mean? Bungie knew the game would suck and sold it for $60??

The fact that bungie didn't put that much work into it doesn't justify the fact that it cost $60. Infact it does the opposite. So saying "Bungie wasn't really trying because it was not a completely new halo game" does absolutely nothing to prove your point.

*facepalm*

  • 11.07.2009 4:48 PM PDT

Bungie has done nothing wrong. Yeah i agree ODST could be better but that was just a side game. Why should you get the Beta for free? That's like giving away part of the game free.

First off ODST is terrible. They give us a half a$$$ game that you cant even find a match in cuz none of my friends play it. There is no searching for a match. Now you must buy the game to continue to play the only decent matching left in halo 3. Why cant they give the beta for free like every other company out there? Oh Reach beta will sell ODST just like Bungie said. Thats bull. I cant believe Bungie is doing this. How much more will we take from bungie? In this recession we are in, why must they do this? I have loved bungie up to this point. I thought bungie cared about there fans. Guess not. Now we cant get any info on reach and its been almost a year since Bungie announced the game. When MW2 comes out, Bungie is up the creek because how baldy they have ripped off the fan base. Does anyone else feel like I do? Please I would love to hear from others.

1. How good or bad ODST is complete opinion, it has no relevance. (besides, for only a year of work, it rocked.)

2. Then meet people that do have it, you not having friends is not Bungies fault.

3. Bungie has a tradition of giving the beta out ONLY with another game, remember Halo 3 beta? This also ensures only true fans test their newest game.

4.Seriously, people need to stop saying we are in a recession, according to the people who decide if we are in one or not, say its over, and to those who actually know history, this was no recession.

5. MW2 is a completely different game, and fan bases tend to not cross when it comes to COD and Halo.

6. No, I don't feel betrayed, I feel blessed that they cared enough to squeeze in another game before Reach, so we didn't feel abandoned.

Let me get this straight: you think that what's wrong with the world today is basically that Bungie made a new game? GROW UP. Honestly, do you not have anything better to complain about?! YOU PAID FOR IT. BUNGIE DID NOT MAKE YOU BUY ODST. Look, I honestly don't know how to describe in words how immature this is. I really don't. I think that for what you get, ODST is an amazing package. If you think ODST is a bad game, you have a really poor knowledge base. Go play something like The Darkness. Also, Microsoft is the one that prices the games, so don't blame Bungie for "messing up the world". If they had their way, you'd be paying $40 max for the game. The most simple way I can put this is: GROW UP. If you have nothing more to complain about than that you thought a videogame was expensive, you really have no idea.

Every night at the stroke of twelve, McHenry would lurch from his grave, REEKING OF ASS AND DEATH

Dear OP, your retarded. I like how you merge all of you whiny, ignorant, children that think that ODST is the worst game ever because of its price, but the fact remains YOU ARE RETARDED. ODST was such a delicious gaming experience, the likes of which I havent enjoyed since Halo 1.

If price was such a god-damned issue with you, why didnt you just rent it, you damned idiot.

Also, I read earlier in your thread somewhere that gaming is in a recession. IT AINT. It is, in fact, booming. Think about it this way. 10-15 years ago, there were fewer game developers out there, meaning that less B+ games like Warcraft and Quake came out.

Now-a-days, we have more and more game developers, meaning that we get more and more B+ games. But that also means that we get more and more crap games.

I count myself lucky that we get all of the Halo games within 9 years. Half Life 2 took TEN YEARS to produce. Would you rather wait ten years for a golden game that also has the possibility of being put on hold indefinitely, or have several pretty good games within that ten years?

Okay, a few things:

One, they built ODST within a year. They built it on top of the Halo 3 engine, so any problems or limitations that engine had (like a lack of Campaign matchmaking, AI, what have you) would be in ODST. If you actually consider it, ODST is amazing for what it is. Sure, there are problems with it but you could've done research before you bought it if you feel it wasn't a good value.

Two, Bungie doesn't set prices for Xbox games, Microsoft does. Bungie wanted to charge it for less, but Microsoft is greedy.

Three, they included three new MP maps, Firefight, and a Beta for their upcoming game in with a pretty good campaign. If it costed ten bucks less, it'd be amazing but it's still a pretty good deal.

Four, what the hell does Modern Warfare have to do with ODST? So what if MW2 sells more, of course it will! ODST is a gift of love from Bungie that got screwed by Microsoft's pricing and CoD fanboys screeching hatred about their favourite game's biggest competitor. ODST isn't Bungie's answer to MW, but Reach will be. Whether it's good or not, all we have are a few -blam!- leaks. We don't know, but for all we know it will be the messiah of video games or a piece or -blam!-. Who cares, as long as you have fun with it or not.

All in all, IT'S A GAME!!! Sure, it's fine to have an opinion, but if you don't like it then whining about it is annoying.

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

A campaign expansion that was made in a year should never be compared to a full game such as MW2.

If you thought the $60 wasn't worth it nobody pointed a gun to your neck and forced you to buy it. You should've read some reviews first, not your big halo fan friend's opinion.

  • 11.07.2009 6:56 PM PDT

Bassman, you brought up the exact point I was going to start with. Nobody was forced to buy this game. To be honest, $60 is too much for ANY game, but now that the precedent has been set, this is the way the video game industry is going to be. People will pay that much, myself included, and these businesses are looking to turn a profit. That's the point of business.

I do understand the complaint about the Mythic 2 maps not being available any other way. It worked out perfectly for me since I had not bought any DLC. I do hope that Bungie, which has a wonderful track record of taking care of their fan base, will put those maps out and am disappointed that they have said that won't happen.

Betrayed? Hardly. I was NOT excited at all about ODST until I saw the gameplay trailer this summer. The Mombassa street level did not intrigue me and it was a pleasant surprise to have the fast paced, high action levels be such a large percentage of the game. I've been very pleased with the game, even though Firefight wasn't everything I thought it would be, and love having all the multiplayer maps.

The beta is icing on moist, delicious cake.
