I have spent a lot of time building maps and things like merging and making objects float definitely make it longer. But I was thinking, what if Bungie made it easier to merge and do this sort of thing. What if you could do it instantly? Now I'm just saying, I haven't heard of anything like this that Bungie would be doing. I personally think this would decrease the value of some really good user created maps. Please vote what you think.

Don't base whether or not you buy a game on its graphics. Gameplay and how fun it is are what matter most. Not the textures of the grass that you will never need to look at!

I think it would be cool for them to do that. Like, add something where you turn merging on with one button, you hold the object in place where you want it merged, and then you hit that same button to make everything solid again. That would be a nice feature, as merging takes a long time to perfect.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite airstrike.

It would speed up map prooduction, but also increase the production vaule. Being able to remove a hitbox of an object and then reenable it on a whim would be very helpful, as would a snap-to-grid feature and manual insertion of vectors.

So, you're saying Forge should be harder so the maps should be more valuable?

I suppose you also think that no one should have Recon except for 200 people so you can brag about it when you have one of them in your friends list?

The manual setting of location(x, y, z),rotation(roll, pitch, yaw) and size (length, height, width) by some in-game keypad would be nice.

DEEP NNN = Depends

Clan 2old2pwn on 2old2play.

Don't let yesterday use up too much of today.

The quality of the maps will increase alomost exponentially.

Like any skilled workmanship, the cream will rise to the top. Yes, maps will be easier to make but the truly creative minds will still be more creative and will produce the best maps.

easier merging will just make maps prettier, and less bumpy, but they won't be good if the gameplay is bad.

If Bungie were to include merging in Reach, maps would look much better and Forge would be more accessible to players.
Right now, the "best" maps are made by people with the best grasp of forge. There shouldn't be emphasis placed on who can exploit Forge better, but rather those who think creatively.

If youre saying that it would decrease the value of pre-existing maps, then youre wrong. Since these maps were made for Halo 3 and not Reach, the best ones will remain at the top( I'm assuming you can't interchange maps between games). Reach will have a whole different list of Top Maps (or whatever).

Definitely. I think that Forge needs to be one of the most affected features, aside from campaign. Halo 3's Forge is great, but requires too many glitches to be effective. Even Ghost Merging is tedious. It should be simple, quick, and amazing. I really hope the take the advice of the Forge Update thread in the Halo 3 Forum.

yeah it would speed up production and all that and im NOT saying only 200 people should have recon because frankly its only armor but what im trying to say is wouldnt u feel like you wasted your time merging on old Halo3 maps when people could now do it with the touch of a button? Like i guess im trying to say that itd make me angry if i spent all those days only to have instant merging on the next game.
