I know they didn't, and seriously hope they don't.
This thread has been repeated too many times. Cryengine 3 is old news. Bungie always makes their own stuff and does it well. The new engine will be top of the line, but you have to think of the Xbox 360's hardware limitations, and the RROD rate. They could make an awesome engine but then everyone's 360s would be melting down from the poor design and lack of proper cooling.
Bungie will push the 360 as far as it will go, you don't have to worry about that.
Havok was a large part, but to say that they used "the havok engine" is wrong. Havok is software. A standard accepted by M$ game studios for getting the most out of the 360.
Havok is the table. Then you build on top of that table and do what you please with the surface you are given. Granted Havok is a big table. It's more of a standard you build upon, not a finished product. Bungie designed their own engine in the studio.
