I heard a rumor that Bungie is heading a Shadowrun project, anyone that can confirm this?

First of all, what's Shadowrun? Second of all, Bungie only makes their own original games.

Shadowrun was a game on super Nintendo, right?

I think I actually saw this rumor in a magazine, too. Probably the same magazine that claimed Halo was being ported to GBA, so... yeah its probably BS

Shadowrun was a paper-and-dice roleplaying game by the late and lamented FASA game studio, set in a cyberpunkish future that was trying to reconcile itself to the return of magic. They had some interesting ideas on how the society would work but it fell prey to the need to be easily understood... so the cliche count was kinda high. (Still, having a dragon stand as a Presidential candidate was fun to read.)

I can see why folks would like to see Bungie explore that universe, but the Lt. is right; Bungie's past track record shows a preference for developing their own story universes.

-- Steve never did play Shadowrun, but knew many who did and has a sample copy kicking around somewhere.

Well...was it any good? And it was on SNES, right?

The history and background made the game absolutely amazing. The Snes version was alright but it didn't have the immersion you get from a paper and pencil RPG. The Genesis version wasn't all that much better. You guys should read up on it at http://www.shadowrunrpg.com
