Picture you driving a ghost and you are about to splatter someone. But it turns out that you suck at splatter and they high-jacked you. Then for a split second the game gives you an option to defend yourself from the player. (How it works is up to you.) Now he is off your ghost, you kill him, and then you die from a Spartan lazier and everyone is happy. The End

Again how it works is up to you.

Why should you be given a chance to defend yourself when you screwed up when performing a risky action like splattering?

It gives you a chance to redeem your actions in a hasty manner, and I for one like the idea.

It would have to be some random button combo, generated on your K/D in that game though... To give the lesser skilled players a chance, and to make the great players fight for what they have.

I liked how in Halo 2, if a person is boarding you,you can get out of the tank, but in Halo 3, if a person is boarding you, youre screwed.

Random button combos are not all that hard to do. Please don't nerf one of the the major options for infantry to fight back against vehicles.

Look, if you are boosting around in a ghost and you miss and hit a wall you deserve to be hijacked. If you don't think you can splatter them then don't.

So you want to remove one of the options that makes an already overpowered veichle a little less overpowered.

They already gave the option to shoot boarders off. If you get hi-jacked, you deserve to get hi-jacked.

I like it.

Non Nobis Nascimur - We are not born for ourselves.

They just need to remove that stupid thing where you can't move or look after you've been hijacked. Also, if someone boards the back of a tank, the driver should be able to jump out.

That way the hijacker is stuck on the back of a tank and unable to do anything as the driver beats the crap out of him. Makes complete sense.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Sure, I like the idea.

Like, "Hold RB to kick the hijacker's ass" for a split second.

No. If the driver jumps out, then the guy on the back jumps out. It's pretty simple.

Look, if I went through all the effort to sneak up behind a tank that can kill me in one hit, I don't want some guy being able to jump out before I can start punching and throwing grenades and fight me in an evenly sided battle over the tank. He was an idiot and let me hijack him. He deserves to die.

  • 11.07.2009 5:29 PM PDT

oh you mean like a rapid tap of a button like the driver and the highjacker have to hit B really fast, and who ever hits it the fastest wins the fight. That would be funny cause while they were fighting the drove the hog off a cliff or something.

Thank you sir, that was an epic rendition of this topic.

and how!

There should be a split second when you can press a certain button to have a chance to knock them back off the vehicle.

But only when applicable. If you're piloting a Wraith and an enemy gets on the back, you shouldn't be able to do anything but jump out. No pressing a button and launching them off.

UNLESS you could kill the boarding party by boosting, considering there is the backfire out of the engine "hole".

It makes absolutely no sense that the driver can't jump out when the guy is on the back. At least when he is on the front it kinda makes sense in the way that the boarder is blocking the driver from getting out.

Or the hi-jacker could get off...

  • 11.07.2009 6:17 PM PDT

Hmm...

I think if you are boosting in ghost/chopper or going really fast in a warthog, the only way of defending yourself would be to hit a wall really fast, and then the person will fly off of it. Otherwise, if you get hijacked, you get hijacked.
