O dear Elder, please read this.

We need our Halo music badly. Were it not for these dear songs, we would not be able to kick ass and chew bubblegum, then run out of bubblegum in Bungie's Halo series. So we request music. Retain the classic themes, but make it fresh (or keep it clean), give us some new sounds. Halo set up the classic themes, Halo 2 innovated them with rock, Halo 3 added more detail and made them shiny, and ODST added unheard elements to the musical accompaniment, such as saxaphones and innovative percussion. What I ask for in Reach is either a combination of the three, or new ideas altogether. And if any members want to add any requests, they can as well. I try not to manipulate your musical preference, dear Marty, just put some input into your job. Not like you would read this anyway, being busy with Reach. But have at, ye sound thirsty members! Stab this topic with opinions and bias (well that sounds a bit violent)! Anyways, my suggestions are:

*Industrial music with new effects.
*Saddened music when bad things happen.
*Music that triggers when a 30 seconds of fun event occurs.

Songwriter, write me a song!

REACH: TIME FORE ELECTRONIC I SAY!

  • 11.07.2009 5:44 PM PDT

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Halo 1 had Electronic...

I'm sure Marty is working on the Reach music.

IMO, the percussion was not innovative. However, it was used quite well.

tbh i would love to hear a new version of the main halo theme. For 2 main reasons. I love that theme and im fed up of fans versions of it. There rubbish. Anyway i would also like some old songs re-made (like in Halo 3 and Halo 2) but also new ones. Also maybe the monk part could be the Halo 2 version ? I preferd that version. Sounded less ... well ... i dunno crnt describe it lol.

Well since you're absolutely begging for my opinion, I will oblige. I think that on the whole the music of the Halo series has been very good, although I wasn't ecstatic about the Blues/Jazz type of music that was in ODST. But I digress. I think a new version of the original Halo themes would do the job well enough, but I wouldn't mind some new music as well.

Bungie has always done an excellent job with the music in the Halo series, so I see no reason to doubt them now.

That song right there. We need more remakes like it. Under Cover of Night is the ultimate stealth song.

Eat raw meat.
Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Marty O'Donnell is a terrific composer. I still shiver a bit when I play Halo: CE and just listen to the menu music. Walking through ODST is awesome for me, sax solos are always awesome for me.

I'm really hoping Marty goes all out for this one!

Go Rams and Missouri!

In the trailer it sounded like "The Maw" was making a bit of a return. Then again, it was in the Halo 3 TV Spot and never made it's way into the actual game.

Well I think we all know the answer is simple. Grunts, straight-up gangster rap and of course jackals beat-boxing.

Oh yeah, more bass, more bass, more bass. Bass pleases me. But only if it's pulled off correctly, a la Cliff Burton style.

I just wasted a few seconds of your life and you're never getting them back!

It doesn't matter! If Marty's doin' the music, I'm fine with whatever it may be. He hasnt disappointed yet.

After ODST's soundtrack, I totally trust Marty to whip up something fantastic. I wouldn't mind getting more monk singing and I really liked the indian chant that was in a couple songs from Halo CE. Oh, and a guitar solo here and there wouldn't hurt if used appropriately. It was always my favorite part of The Silent Cartographer, after activating the map, a sweet solo started up, nothing like wasting bad guys to that.

-blaze-

lol make it like GTA you get in a hog and the music starts. and the monks are driving my family mad lmao
