Do you think it would be cool to have a disarm option in Halo: Reach (either in campaign and/or multiplayer)?
Here's how I imagine it would work, a player or NPC swings at you with a melee attack and you have a very small opportunity to press RB or some other button and disarm them. Their weapon would replace your current weapon and yours would fall to the ground... Of course this would mean some players might have no weapon.

Pretty good, but how much time to diarm? It also might be grounds for a really cool mod, always diarming your opponent without using the disarm button.

maybe if they got a pistol no matter what that couldnt be stolen. i was thinking that you meant like if you wanted to play with no weps which would be great for machinima

Fair point. Maybe disarm time could be adjustable in custom games and be about .1 seconds in matchmaking.
Agreed about the Mod though, that would be nasty, but the banhammer could probably handle them, just look for people with ridiculously high disarm rates.

Maybe you could choose to have no weapons in custom games. Good idea about the pistol though.

this is a good idea but u have to come up with a way to prevent someone from using "the mod"

Good idea. Could balance the overpowered melee attacks.

Something like this would essentially take away the melee in higher skill levels unless if there's lag, and be of random use at other skill levels (especially with lag). Bad idea IMO, too lag based. They just need to take away the superman lunge.

That would be even worse. I complained about lag because it causes luck.
