Yes, really

well congrats everybody. now you can expect nothing that is new in these pics to be in the final game, which means they might have to redo some stuff, which means they might have to delay the game.

thanks

i beilive the pics Are fake, bad graphics compaire to odst,

purks.......lol....for real, and the needler carbine mix looks like a needler and carbin skinned over a spartan laser, and the warthog looks like its from halo 1 and dont even say its because its not that far along in completion either, because its been being worked on for ever, like since halo 3 was released, and the beta is almost ready for public and i dought its gonna be like that.

Did it occur to you that the pictures might have been taken months ago? who's to say they were taken around the time they were released. You have no idea what the time frame is.

#1.The shots are most definitely legitimate, because it you look at the weapons you can see that they are verrry nice looking and they also have parts that have never been seen in other Halo games. There is no way someone could've done this in any other way.

#2. Do you honestly think that games that are made these days are graphically beautiful IMMEDIATELY?? (Now I may be only a teenager, but I'm interested in becoming a game designer, so I read TONS about it.) From what I have seen, there are many more important things to do to a project before adding textures and things of that matter.

Im not really sure if i was kidding...
I remember when the leaked pics and vids of cod WaW came out, they almost decided to redo the 3 levels that got leaked, and thus the almost had to delay the game a few months for testing and re voice acting and what not. But, being lazy arses, decided not to. However, I know Bungie's people arent lazy arses like Treyarch(Trearch? however its spelled) so they might decide to weed out those levels and new guns, and replace them with new ones.

whatever you heard about them redoing a game, napoleon, was simply not true. bungie or any other studio is not about to throw away months or years of work just because someone leaked a few (bad) pics. thats proly a pathetic attemp to get ppl to think twice about leaking info..same principle as santa claus..or jesus.............

  • 11.08.2009 5:37 AM PDT

???

first of all, it's a blurry picture taken by a camera phone. second of all, the graphics are still being worked one. third of all, the beta may not be released for another 4 or 5 months, so i don't get where you got "Beta's almost done"

  • 11.08.2009 5:48 AM PDT

poop

they're obliously fake, I dont think bungie would include sprinting in the game...

  • 11.08.2009 5:53 AM PDT

ROYALE WITH CHEESE

is it just me or do the graphics in the pics actually look pretty damn good for a game that still has a year of development. The guns look amazing, if these pics are in fact real all i can say is WELL DONE BUNGIE for creating yet another brilliant game in the series. This will be epic :P

I think the pictures are fake because according to halopedia, "While only a year away from release, Reach's environment architecture, cinematic script, and most in-game encounters have been either completely finished or polished [7]; in addition, many properties of Reach have been placed in the game and are currently playable". These pictures do not look finished or polished so they are either fake or taken from a really old build
http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Halo_Reach

Also, it says this on the bungie weekly update 10/23/09,
"Most environments are architecting complete, some have seen substantial finishing
Many encounters have received substantial polish
Cinematic script has been recorded
Performances are up and running in-game"

Signatures are for squares.

Why in the HELL is this topic active? Discussion of leaked material is grounds for a ban. Please use common sense, and STOP spreading these leaks.

  • 11.08.2009 8:56 AM PDT

i read an article saying it was following MW's perk system. if that's true then im dissapointed in Bungie.

Stop while you're ahead. The more you discuss these leaks, the higher chance you have of being banned.

The Game is in pre-alpha and these are pics of campaign mode, The environments dont look that good because Bungie has been working on the multiplayer to get it to Beta by This spring then they will have plenty of time to make the campaign environmental graphics look better

Still using a pump-action shotgun over 500 years in the future I see.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

Don't any of you remember the viddocs of Halo 3 before it came out? They showed clips of Halo 2 Style graphics, and people were thinking "Ah no, it's going to have terrible graphics and stuff!". But it changed.

  • 11.08.2009 9:18 AM PDT

its amazing how you kids doubt due to the 'leaked screenshots' that Bungie would not do a good job with Halo: Reach - your complaints basically justifies their reasons of not being open with the public until the beta starts, keeping their development hush-hush until they feel the game is ready to be showcased to the public. Really pathetic people, come on this is the same company that produced the other 4 Halo themed games and yet you have some doubts? It's really sad there's a lack of mature forum people.

Also discussing or linking links to leaked objects from the Halo: Reach game is not allowed, look at the rules, I hope I don't get banned for posting in this thread. Bungie put their heart and soul into this project and they deserve to choose when to surprise their fans with the completed and polished game alongside with the release of beta. People who leak anything deserves nothing but contempt and you forum goers annoy the hell out of me with your whinings. That's why I rarely post in this forum unless its a rational and sensible discusiion.

Out.

Remember the huge difference between the graphics in Halo 2 and Halo 3? It's going to be same with Halo 3 being Halo 2 and Halo: Reach being Halo 3.

  • 11.08.2009 9:46 AM PDT

the pics arent tom's, he says there his and drew a poorly made watermark over them. If they are real, the "perks" are probably just equipment, and I doubt the holograhm part is real. And anyway, this might get locked.

also, you don't know the first thing about game development

I hate it how Bungie have said you can't even discuss the leaked footage, I mean what gives them the right, apart from being the omnipotent gods of this website, to impinge upon our right to freedom of speech. Soon we won't be able to discuss all the problems in past Halo games, and soon we won't be able to blame Bungie (especially Stosh) for anything. They're turning into a totalitarian regime I'm telling ya. We won't even be able to pick our noses for fear of the almighty Banhammer swinging its immense load into our pulpy heads.

In all seriousness I think not being able to even discuss the topic is a serious fault on whoever gave the orders part and they really should reconsider that particular stipulation.

Bungie developed this website, you are using it for free, Bungie pays for maintenance on this website, you are using it for free, Bungie developed the Halo games, you are not involved in the developing process, Bungie made it clear that they won't tolerate leaked objects and screenshots of the upcoming Halo: Reach game, you complain and whine why it is unfair, they are not interfering with your freedom of speech, someone broke their rule therefore if you support the crime that person did by leaking the screenshots which Bungie said clearly in the first place that it is not allowed, you are basically cheering for the criminal who did it instead of respecting Bungie's privacy when it comes to their games because they own it, not you, not the criminal who leaked the footage, you're making a silly deal out of a trivial thing like not being able to talk about illegal leaks on a game forum. If you're going to complain about such silly things like this then the Flood forum is a better place to do it, no one cares, especially Bungie because they paid and made this forum, the games, and the things you see in the screenshots are illegal leaks, which will not be tolerated. If you get banned then so be it, nobody will miss you.

  • 11.08.2009 9:57 AM PDT

I'm guessing part of the reason Bungie hasn't shown us any pictures yet is because they aren't presentable at the moment.

The game's in alpha build so they've just put down all the geometry and made the models, they haven't put in the details yet.

It makes sense, because if they play through the alpha and find something they want to change, it would be a waste of time if they had put detail into it and then had to just delete it.
