Subject: What if Bungie leaked the photos?

I will not link to the images, google it.
So I was looking at the images and noticed that there were SEVEN of them. So what if Bungie leaked them to gain interest in Halo: Reach with people who do not visit bungie.net.

DID I JUST MAKE YOUR HEAD ASPLODE?!!!

You think they would release alpha stage pictures from a cell phone camera?

Halo is owned by Microsoft anyways, and they would never give their big new game such a treatment.

No.

Bungie would never treat their game like this. This would be dirty, underhanded marketting tricks. Nothing Bungie will ever do.

At the most, Microsoft. The shots came out of MS HQ. But even Microsoft knows not to mess around with things like this.

Just NO.

Well what if microsoft would not let bungie show any gameplay so bungie took some pics when they were showing someone the game. They couldn't really show perfect hi-def pics or someone would get fired so they made it look like a fan took it.

Yeah you did just enter the Matrix.

Yeah and Bush is responsible for 9/11 and Obama is a secret muslim socialist.

Trust me the world's not that complex. The only parallel from the Matrix to the real world is the inclusion of Keanu Reeves.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

It wouldn't surprise me, devs have been doing things like this for years. Interesting that this comes out right before MW2 drops, not like its going to steal any sales away from MW2, but maybe some media attention will be diverted. In short, I wouldn't put it above anyone to do anything. We'd all like to think Bungie would take the moral high ground and take a "low blow" at their competition, but you never know.

How is MW2 competition to bungie regarding Halo Reach? That's rhetorical, it's not. In actuality MW2 is a huge release for Microsoft. Its the biggest game of the year, and most of its sales are going to be on the 360. They are even bundling it with a themed console.

Microsoft would be stupid to Leak these photos, and there is no way bungie would show off photos that are alpha, before they know their game is ready.

My theory is that these pictures were taken over a year ago, or at least 6 months ago by an employee at Microsoft. He got laid off, and therefore to get back for his release he put these on the interwebs.

ODST was pretty much sold as a dirty, underhanded marketting trick.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

I don't think the pictures were real.

I think of it as a Halo 3 Mod.

So what if they did??.....Bungie is Bungie. and as far as I'm concerned they can do whatever the -blam!- they want.

I wouldn't rule that out entirely.

You have too much respect for Bungie.

Hmm. I doubt it.

I don't rule out the possibility of Microsoft releasing screens and calling them "leaked", but I just think that this is the wrong stage in development to do it.

I mean... look at the screenshots. Would you really want those to be the publics very first impressions of Reach? I certainly wouldn't. I'd much rather show screenshots that would make people think "Holy -blam!- that looks awesome!", rather than "The game is obviously in Alpha stage".

Signatures are for squares.

Discussion of leaked material is grounds for banning.

  • 11.08.2009 8:54 AM PDT

Dude, it's Halo. Bungie don't need to leak their own crap.

Halo -blam!- sells.
