Subject: Has Bungie ever listened to anyone on here?

Hello,

I have always been curious if all the ideas about what should be in halo has ever been implemented. Does anyone have or know of anything?

It would be hard for them to make big changes to the game now, since they said that most of the game mechanics and environments are done, mostly they're playtesting and polishing environments, working on MM, and adding little changes.

They do, its just that most ideas look good on paper...or well a forum post, but won't really work out in real game-play, besides the game is just about done so they really can't change much.

Yes they do/have. I'm sure Firefight didn't come out of thin air.

I think they will still be designing the game up until release.

Look at the H3 Beta compared to the final product, obviously they made changes.

yes, thats why the halo2+3 magnum sucks, you can dual weild weapons, board vehicles, why the halo 3 plasma pistol sucks, and NOT why there were no elites in ODST.

Bungie didn't get the Firefight idea from the community or fans. They thought of it themselves.

You can't kill what's dead.

Stand. Fight. Resist. S2F.

They do. I think...

But any major changes that people are suggesting need to be thrown out the window. We only have time for minor changes, such as how many rounds should the BR have or how large the splash damage for the rockets should be.

Ideas like FULL OUT SPACE BATTLES and A NEW MAP EDITOR are too late to be suggested.

I do remember see old threads about having something similar near GoW2 release.

Hmm...

The team sniper playlist.

It was a coincidence.
Seriously.

They do.

When Halo 2 came out I was all like "Why are the buildings all mossy? They look like Aztec ruins. Bungie needs to switch them back to shiny architecture, it looks hella-cooler that way" and Bungie was all like "Good point Dude, here's a couple for a free pizza at Pizza Hut" I thusly replied "I effin LOVE Pizza Hut".

And that's the true story of how Halo 3 had shiny forerunner buildings, and what I had for dinner a few years ago. The end.

I think they should listen to SOME of them, for the next game after reach, instead of just ignoring us, and yes most ideas are best written down, or posted, and don't work in gameplay, but some of our ideas are with in reason, like how many of us want to be fighting elites again, how many of us want another firefight, and how many of us want decent plasma weapons and a darker stroy plot, there all do able, and I think bungie should take atleast SOME of our ideas into account, don't get me wrong, BUNGIE STILL ROCK!! =]

People weren't satisfied with guardian and wanted lockout. We got Blackout.

People wanted a good 1 vs 1 map and wanted chill out. We got cold storage.

People wanted midship. We got heretic.

People in the optimatch forum wanted all AR start gametypes to be replaced by AR Pistol Starts. That dream is now a reality.

And thats just a few.

While some people like to think they don't at all, they're obviously wrong. Bungie tends to give in if there is a huge demand for something, such as pistol secondaries, or a Midship remake.

That's not to say they listen all the time, or have good ideas because let's be honest, they ignore/don't see a lot of good things on here, and implement some bad ones.

It's really all about demand, although they claim it isn't.

Scandinavian Master Race!

Swat, Sniper and Team Throwback. We wanted a ranked big team playlist and we first got Ranked big team and later on Squad battle replaced it.

that's because we've been asking for a Halo survival mode since the first game. By the time the forum for the game is open, most of the major decisions and game modes are already created. So Firefight was taken from the ODST forum, it was taken from community suggestions and demands over the years

Five years older and wiser

They do.

I'm sure they listen to intelligent input
however, most of the posting on this forum doesn't fall into that category

  • 11.08.2009 9:57 AM PDT

There is nothing wrong with Halo:Reach. We all just have our gripes about everything we don't like. Not liking something doesn't make it broken.

You look in the wrong places. In time you will grow a sort of 'Troll sense' that will allow you to know the content of a thread by reading the title.

Shortly afterwards, you will notice that you are bumping into intelligent users more often because you've stopped posting in repeat and retard threads.

There are three threads types to ignore:
-Obvious trolls = "LAWL BR SUKZ" and "RECON SUKZ" threads are always a waste.

-Slowpokes = Anyone who just learned something from a month ago needs to be ignored.

-Repeat of a repeat = If it is the third thread of its type and has the least replies, it'll suck. Every time. No exceptions. No thread made as a repeat is good.

If people allow themselves to learn to recognize and NEVER reply to these threads, B.Net will become a smarter place.
