I think this adaption would be good for multyplayer games, but as I said on the Scarab thread, it would require a huge map, that will take a lot of XBOX 360's resources, can the XBOX 360 handle this well? Also, what could be the real benefit to drive a pelican when all the other team rush to the enemy without doing any team work?

Xbox same as PS3 hasn't had their full potentials realised yet there's still alot of thing's the xbox can do which we don't know of yet.

It's all a matter of time spent in testing and developing.

I want one. If not in Matchmaking, just stick it into Forge. It's be epic for Forge games, epic for Machinima.

I didn't mention PS3, I am not comparing any of the consoles. However, as you said it requires time and time in a games development runs tight after the first year.

It doesn't require a large map. It would be recommended on large maps, but they should be available to use in Forge on any map.

i agree with the post that said you would need a huge map.
this is just an example but you can't put a pelican on heretic or many other maps. they are just to small.

They could probably use the existing flight controls for the Hornet, seeing as the Pelican's a VTOL capable aircraft. Gawd, that would be epic.

That would be pretty cool

I know this is off topic but
has it even been comfermed if the
will be matchmaking for halo
reach?

  • 11.08.2009 8:52 AM PDT

yeah i think so

  • 11.08.2009 8:55 AM PDT

Its a trap!!!

If it was in multiplayer it would take up a large portion of your screen and hurt what you can see on the map. I would say phantoms and pelicans should be the only vehicles you should be able to drive in 1st person

Agreed

Only in campaign. It would be way too hard to balance for multiplayer. Either it would be worthless or its going to become the next banshee but bigger so your opponents can't dodge it as it grinds along the ground splattering everything.

agreed

Drivable Pelicans can screw off.

I just want to see Echo 419 again! God I miss her so much.

to avoid the pelican being a splatter mashine it should need time to accelerate enough to be deadly and they we will be able to board it easily unless it comes from behind

See, my first worry is about the resolution compatibility, of course games run smoother on a lower resolution, however what could happen if someone runs Halo Reach in 1080p? We're talking about the CPU working along with the RAM to load everything from the disk into one big sandbox map, where you're supposed to fly around and of course load a big camera distance so its pilotable and also the game will offer a good quality of graphics.

It requires a lot of attention, huge maps will always require a great use of CPU and RAM, and also many load points (in game load points), I think its too extreme to spend time into working further on that, when you can work into making an even more stunning level.

well i mean you could have driven a pelican in the Ark in halo 3. that size level is all you need

  • 11.08.2009 9:16 AM PDT

It's going to require to much of the Xbox360 I think so... I don't think it'll be in Halo:Reach too bad though xD

  • 11.08.2009 9:16 AM PDT

Well I don't know if thats possible, but it would most definitely be a better war to get your team around, unlike the Elephant.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

  • 11.08.2009 9:20 AM PDT
