Do you think it would be better to make the melee less powerfull in reach? Or do you think it is good as it is? How do you think a different melee strength would impact the overall gampeplay?

I think a little less power for the melee, such as 3 melee attacks to kill someone instead of 2

I think it should only kill you if you have no shields, if you have like a tiny bit of shields left it shouldn't kill you.

maybe more realistic =P you can melee someone without looking I personally think the halo ce melee system was the best......

Honestly this is the fix that needs to happen. Something, whether it be power or just difficulty of use.

The melee in H3 is so dumbed down and has absolutely no skill gap that is forces everyone with half a brain to stay away at all costs.

That is what makes halo monotonous, not being able to venture within to CQC.

It needs to do 40 dammage (scale of -80 shields -35 health) so someone with a br-like weapon could not melle and headshot for a quick kill.

This is a great idea, as it could open up other ideas, just maybe 3 hits but quicker. I like that line of thought.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

I'd like if there were 3 kind of weapons
- 1 Hit Kill like Sword and Hammer (Needler) (100% damage)
- 2 Hit kill like Spiker, Rocket Launcher... (60% damage)
- 3 Hit kill like AR, BR, SMG, Plasmarifle... (35% damage)

Plus the stance thing from Halo1
- Standing still does least damage (+0% damage)
- Running does more damage (+20% damage)
- Jumping causes the most damage (+30% damage)

Because Bungie uses hit-points they could make that work. Jumping and swinging Spiker once just almost kills the enemy while standing still and swinging Spiker barely kills the enemy in 2 hits

Agreed, for the exception of melee weapons though, it should be 1 or two, depending on how powerful.

because they would not be able to AR+melee anymore, silly.
you know, they'd have to learn to aim with a long range weapon instead of rushing like an ass, spraying bullets and meleeing.

and everybody knows aiming and skills are SO overrated and lame.
