If youve played halo wars or read the books, then you no the spartans kicked some serious ass just using thier hands and i think it would be a cool feature in reach.

There is nothing wrong with Halo:Reach. We all just have our gripes about everything we don't like. Not liking something doesn't make it broken.

Right now I'm having some palm to face combat.

Every single game, every single game, in a first person perspective that has tried hand-to-hand combat more advanced than simple beat downs has failed.

Halo would not be an exception due to the fact it's impossible to handle. Even with the Wii's motion sensing. It'd ruin the game completely.

J.I.ZZ. cannon

there should be a part in a mission were you and a couple elites dont have any weopens so you have to use hand to hand combat then you get a weopen and it goes back to normal

Wrong. Turok did a perfectly good job.

As far as Halo is concerned though, it is totally unnecessary.

However, I always thought it would be neat to have more to the whole Hijack thing. Skyjack is fine, but it would be cool if Hijacking a Hog started a speedy lil' "Mash the B button" quicktime on both sides. The more button presses gets away with the vehicle.

I mean, Tanks and Flying vehicles wouldn't need it. If you get hijacks there you deserve to get either tossed out or dead.

Warthogs and Ghosts though, I can't see why not other then what a few would consider balancing issues.

(Also, if you aren't holding any equipment, making the X button do a small melee as a counter would be cool. If the enemy melees and your X-button-melee hits him at the same time, neither party is harmed and the enemy is tossed back a short distance.)

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Tap B to punch, tap it multiple times to do smooth combos, Press B for longer to kick.
Press RB at right time to block, counter or hold the enemy. You can get similiar "Press RB to X" as you do with everything else

Maybe? Yes it feels really awkward to always have a weapon in hand and do the same 2 different punches.

the only hand to hand combat I remember in turok was "press rb (or whatever button) so insta kill the dino while doing some pretty cool pose and action"

tell me about a perfectly good job...

Leave that to Alien vs Predator for hand to hand combat, unless you play as the marine.

What? Do you expect some big complex combination? In turok, the knife wasn't a melee in the way it is treated normally. It's an independent weapon with strengths and weaknesses.

On top of that, the Knife had to be used in different ways on different baddies. You had to come at humanoid enemies either head on or from behind and the Dinos had different requirements as well. They made the melee system pretty complex, almost overpowered.

So yes. Perfectly well.

Yeah. The only combat Marines see is Teeth on TheirFace style combat.

Would it not be ok if you could slip into third person view ONLY for these hand to hand combat situations. In other words, you cannot shoot in this third person view.

RIP Halo 2

That's so stupid.

We got Jackals in the courtyard!

maybe you could have a melee that you can do without holding a weapon. a glitched elite in halo 3 (or in beginning of co op crows nest) can melee without a weapon, but theirs no HUD and it does no damage.

maybe a spartan or whoever your playing as can just have a punch similiar to the plasma pistols (obviously without plasma pistol)
