If you've ever played CE you would remember how useful these weapons were in multiplayer due to the stun. Just wondering if Bungie should bring it back because these two weapons seem kind of useless right now in H3.

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

Hell no. You could barely turn around when getting shot by them.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

At least the PP should be more powerful, it was pretty useless in Halo 3. In CE, when used intelligently and effectively, it could do wonders. It was a flood killer too.

I used to get on these forums back in the Halo 1, anticipating Halo 2 days...I'm back :)

I hope so. I really liked that

Exactly, it was the whole trademark factor of those two weapons. Both the PP and PR still killed slowly.

But it's unbelievably unfair. If you get shot in the back you have absolutely no chance of killing them.

Its totally fair since their damage isn't as good as most other weapons, and its not impossible to turn and face them if you knew what you were doing.

Also, if they were shooting you in the BACK, you probably didn't have much of a chance of surviving anyway...

Usually in any fight if you're getting shot in the back first, then you're going to lose. The PR/PP just used this one factor to an extreme.

The PR and PP in Halo CE did a lot of damage. The ones in Halo 3 are useless, except for EMPing vehicles with the PP so you can blow them up. It's a shame since i really liked the PR until Halo 3, ODST improved it a little but nowhere near Halo 2 or CE's

And then, actually hitting the vehicle was quite hard, especially when it wasn't going to ram you.

This too, the PP has poor lock-on overcharge like it used to. By no means it should be like H2 where that thing had a mind of its own, but between the tracking of H2 and H3.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

Yes, the plasma rifle and plasma pistol are jokes now. They need something that doesn't make them useless half guns when they aren't being dual wielded.

Its your fault for being unaware and letting the other player getting behind you. I could say assassinations are unfair because when I get meleed in the back I have no chance of killing my enemies, but we both know that isn't true.

Plasma weapons don't do that much damage anyways.

I think the homing ability of the Plasma Pistol's overcharge ability is just fine, but I think the velocity of the bolts (including normal non-overcharged) should be drasticly increased, and the range should be increased as well, and the "stun" should return. But to balance it slightly, the bolts should cool as the travel, dealing less damage over range, until it eventually evaporates completely (after like 150 metres).

I like this, because the "noob combo" won't reach that far, but making the weapon overall more effective in several situations. The idea of not increasing the tracking but its bolt size to hit the target easier is a better idea.

Of course I'm for it, as I stated in my thread......

I like having the weapons have different side effects. I don't like the corssover that happened with Halo 3, having all weapons stun a little bit and physics a little bit.

Plasma = Stun and shield damage
Other Projectiles = Life damage and physics push(except for needles and spikes, they push).

I agree. Having a homogenization of weaopns filling the same role and having the same effects made weapons such as the PR useless. The AR/BR can take down shields easily now, and do lots of damage against flesh. You no longer need to think before you choose your weapon because they all have the same side effects.

Unlike the PR/PP which can only take down shields quickly but SUCKS against flesh. Only goes well if followed by a beatdown.

IN MY OPINION

Plasma Pistol - should get the stun back to make it a weapon more worthwhile to pick up.

Plasma Rifle - should have an automatic range and accuracy between BR and AR, thus giving it a niche. This would be like much like how the SMG beats AR in close quarters. Also giving it more range will make the BR less of a universal weapon and do justice the "rifle" part of its name.

Death to rank junkies.

Yes, and it should do much more damage. They are supposed to burn through you, not just deplete your shields.

YES! They need to be useful again.

You make a good point with only giving the PP the stun but not the PR, so the PR simply would not override the PP in terms of effectiveness.

But the PR actually relied on the stun more than the PP because the PP still had the overcharge, and could fire the same speed (sometimes farther by pressing the trigger really fast) as teh PR.
