Subject: Spartan= Katanna Elites= ?

Stop destroying the environment, get of that computer and go into your backyard and build a nuclear powerplant...

:)

So in Halo 3 if you get a certain amount of game score from Halo 3 you unlocked the Katanna (Pardon spelling) for Spartans ONLY so i thought wouldnt it be cool if the Elites had one like a staff on there back or maybe two duel wield little swords, am pushing it a bit now but if there are Brutes in Reach multiplayer (Please please add brutes)they could have a gravity hammer on there back or something? Also in Halo Wars there is a cutscene that shows Elites holding halberds and i thought that look awesome so maybe you could have that instead? And dont try and be clever and say "Well why dont you be a Spartan when you stupid noob" Personally i always liked Elites more then Spartans when we played as them in Halo 2 they just look cool and more alien like, what you be more scared of? I 7ft man in some armour for a 7ft alien creature with sharp teeth and a mouth that splits into 4 parts? With ragged armour with spikes shooting of.

it's spelled katana.

also, there won't be a katana in Reach ... because there won't be hayabusa (and the katana is related to hayabusa).

Lol? Lets not go onto the subject of master chief, elites are the same strength but it just doesn't show that in Halo because it would be like trying to play Halo on Mythic it would be pointless. Lets say you never played Halo NEVER even heard of it, never seen a screen shot or gameplay. NOW, what would you be scared of?

Ooh Sorry my bad about spelling. There most likely wont be Hayabusa but you should at least keep the katana because it looks bad ass and adding a katana like perm for elites would give people another goal to achieve in Halo Reach and that's why i like Halo 3 because you can unlock new armours and get the katana, they could use a elite version to sell the game just like they did with ODST for recon.

Hayabusa was around durring Reach, 20 years before it as a matter of fact.

Halopedia:
While HAYABUSA had different goals than its rival project, MJOLNIR, both programs resulted in powerful battle armor that boasted energy shields. It is unknown though whether or not the original version had energy shields. The HAYABUSA project was intended to develop self-contained power armor, and the project eventually culminated in the development of the Hayabusa Powered Assault Armor, which was developed by Facility RKD on Earth in the year 2536 and was accepted by the UNSC Ordnance Committee the same year.

Halopedia:
By 2552, many of Humanity's Inner Colonies have been destroyed by the Covenant and Reach was next.

Adamantium doesn't exist, and all matter would melt at the extreme temperature of plasma.

You must not know why Bungie made Hyabusa.

They are but there is some reason why chief and other spartans bested them in combat. They just simply don't have the skills that spartans have. An advance AI like Cortana helps also. The Elites still have awesome skills... just there just no spartans

I would compare them to the movie 300. The spartans were the best of the best. Then Xerxes sent his elite soldiers after them.. They were some kinda asian soldiers with mask forget what they were called. They were good enough to kill some spartans but the spartans still took them on with a good ratio.

Just like what happens in the halo universe

Unless they add a property to explain why it would't. Like Star Wars has vibrosword katanas. They are regular swords but for some reason can stand up against a light saber.

If it were in MM make it a one hit kill... no lunge. But has a chance to deflect 1 out of every three bullets that hit you. So this reduces shot damage from a BR and a AR. If its dual weilded this chance goes up

It would work the same as a melee but have a longer range. Plus it would have more then one type of melee animation. So one attack would be one type of slash the next wouldn't look identical.

The purpose of different animations would be to make it look cooler and that the user is actually skilled with it instead of just hacking in the same motion

who cares about the cannon.
here is why butt ugly hayabusa won't be in reach :

Ryu Hayabusa is a ninja created by Team Ninja in the Game Dead or Alive (and Ninja Gaiden).
so why was there a hayabusa armor in halo 3?

Team Ninja added a spartan in their last DoA game (her name is Nicole, I think) as a guest character, and in exchange, Bungie added DoA related stuff to halo (Hayabusa and his katana) to promote Ninja gaiden 2 that came out after H3 (and H3, since DoA came out BEFORE).

TN is now dissolved, and the remains now work on the next Metroid game... sooo, hayabusa, ninja gaiden and DoA won't have ANY other sequels. and they can't make cross overs.
Bungie can't add hayabusa "because theyve done it in halo 3 already!!1111" because of copyrights. they were given the permission ONCE.

What does this have to do with anything? I never said the katana should be used as a weapon?

  • 11.11.2009 12:01 PM PDT

Well, I've wanted an elite reward for 1000G, be it a back item or not. If the spartans get a Katana, I want a cool helmet.

it's a cgi render for hd cutscenes. the polygon count is waaaaaaay too high for a console of this generation (or even a brand new high specs computer) to handle in real time.

then how about similar armor, but less polygons.

No Katana please! And nothing related to anything like that being in Halo! Just give us an awesome tattoo or something that you can't see through the armor anyway.

look closer at the armor... it's the one the arbiters have, except for the spikes on the shoulder, hands and the commando-like helmet.
apart from the helmet, the differences are pretty minor.
