Subject: Idea: Betrayal/Booting system

Nah betrayal should be allowed. And I'm not just saying this because I'm addicted to team killing. Don't judge me, I'm getting help.

it doese'nt look nextgen , looks good but not nextgen
If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

The could just throw a grenade at you and keep you at low shields the whole match. Same goes for getting a headshot on you when an enemy got your shields down.

There should be something to count friendly fire. Once that counter hits a certain point, you get the option to kick him.

My only concern is what happens if the person WAITS until the time is up and then betray you, get the weapon and continue in with their un-sportsmanship lives?

Yeah! that's a great idea! :D
I don't see any potential failures in it, so I'm for it :P

I like the idea that if someone betrays you they cant pick up your guns or ammo

I don't know how they could do this, but it is also a good option!

A brilliant idea! I've been betrayed several times because I got the good weapon first, so seeing them cry over being unable to pick up said weapon makes it all worthwhile.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

I would guess by that time, that you are in combat or close to it, close to a vehicle to get away, or for someone to fight the person trying to betray you.

Like I said, it's not flawless, but it would work much better than w/e the hell bungie is using in Halo 3.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

Awesome idea, make a poll though.

Interesting ideas, but they are very easy to get around. Also, the last two could just as easily be accidental. Finally, griefers will have no problem with this. They just shoot you to annoy you and help the other team kill you. Also, if they only fit into the last category, they could betray each person once and then just hurt the rest of the game with no punishment. Bungie's current system is better than that, in that your record carries over, so if you kill two people in the game, regardless if it's the same person, you can get booted. It seems that your history stays with you across games too.

I would suggest that a total amount of friendly damage gives the option to boot. Let's say each player has 120 damage they can take until death (I forget the exact number). If you deal out 250 damage overall to friendlies during the game, they get the option to boot. You could make that number larger, but it helps a lot in solving not only betrayers (whether intentional or they just suck and hurt the team), but also griefers. The major problem I foresee with this (which I'm sure we can figure out how to fix), is that it would be annoying to get a boot option after every bullet you get hit from a teammate if you know they don't deserve the boot.

One proposal I would recommend is after they deal 250 damage, or whatever the amount, the option to boot is given to all players on the death screen. They have 3-5 seconds to boot or ignore. If they ignore, the counter is reset, and once the player deals 250 damage again, the option to boot comes back to all players on their death screen. This would be convenient, consistent, and wouldn't hamper gameplay.

A lot of people have started to do the griefing as opposed to the straight up betraying, as they can't get booted for it. The only thing I wouldn't like about my proposal is when a guy betrays me for a weapon, I grief him the rest of the game for being a jerk. I'd be the one who ended up booted instead of them.
