I understand the map editor that comes along with halo 2 pc needs something like 3dmax, but could you just use the parts already in the game and make your maps off those? And you can obviously make weapon and property mods, right?

So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

It needs 3dmax for map editor? That sucks.

I think its only to create new content, so im asking if we can just use whats already in the game, like fallout 3's the GECK

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

As far as I know, you absolutely have to have 3DS Max to make Halo 2 maps. Which means the majority of people will have to use unauthorized copies to do so, because the licensed version is very expensive. Too bad Bungie couldn't take the time to make an affordable editor like Hammer for Valve's games and Radiant for iD's Quake and Doom games.
