Linking to places to get leaked assets (text, images, or otherwise), even if the leaked info is FAKE will get you permanently banned. Period. Do not expect me to feel sorry for you.
Talking about the contents of said leaks is not strictly against the rules (unless we're talking spoilers or such in text form), but rather is a gray area where you are subject to whether or not a moderator thinks you're just an enthusiastic fan or a prick who wants to ruin things for other people. Expect appeals of "it was just a joke" or "i'm just excited about the game" to probably fall on deaf ears.
A good rule of thumb is to not be the first guy making threads about a leak. The moderators tend to take a ban first, ask questions later approach for a few days to make sure the message that leaks aren't tolerated is VERY clear. By the same token, though, just because you see other people talking about it doesn't make it okay. Frustrating, I know, but that's why it is called a "gray area". I suggest keeping such discussion to your groups and other places on the Internet until you know for sure the mods are okay with it.

Here's how I handle the grey area. Other mods may be different.
This is a post I'll ban you for.

hey guys, what do you think of this supposed "perks" feature? and what do you think that new Covenant weapon is?

Spoilers are the main thing you want to avoid, especially later on down the line when story details tend to be revealed to the press in magazines.

What makes these supposed "Leaked" Reach pics any different? If they were fake, Mods shouldn't give a perma-ban. If they were real, a perma-ban is VERY nessesary. So either they were real (I really, REALLY hope not) and that's why people got banned, or Mods just didn't want false information to be spread around the forums. So which one is it?
None of the mods know if the screens are real or not, and it doesn't matter anyway. If they're fake, we're preventing false information from being spread. If they're real, we're preventing leaked material from being distributed on Bungie's website. It's not our responsibility to confirm authenticity of any alleged leaks; we just clean them up. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Stop thinking in black and white.
Furthermore, this is where you have to put it into context. Let's say someone posted a supposed spoiler like a week after the Reach announcement trailer at E3. Would that strike you as anything but fake?
Now, let's fast forward to say...May/June 2010. By now, the Reach beta will probably be in full swing (this is purely my guess, nothing more), maybe a couple sites/mags (most likely French) had a hands-on with the game or eyes-on with the campaign. Someone posting spoilers at this time should be taken much more seriously, since more and more people outside Bungie are seeing the game, and this increases the chance of a genuine leak.
