PM me any Coup questions you have.

What I think would be really cool in the campaign is the ability to give commands to other Spartans or Marines. But not like pressing the start button, then picking a command, but actually using a mic to tell your Squad what to do.

Situation 1: A battle with the Covenant has turned for the worse, and you need to get your men to safety, so a little icon would show up saying, "Get men to safety." So all you would have to say into your mic is "Men, fall back, fall back!!" Then the Spartans or Marines get up from there position and quickly run for cover while protecting other men. That would be so AWESOME!!

Situation 2: Say your stuck in your position and can't get to safety without the Covenant killing you, so you say, "Spartan 293(random #), cover me!" He obeys your command and protects you while you get to safety. He kills the Covenant and takes some hits for you.

Of course the AIs will need LOADS of programming for this, so it's unlikely that this will happen. There could also be numerous other commands, but these were the two that came to mind. But hey I can dream can't I?

Urgency:
Based on the volume of your voice, the AI's will no if it's urgent or not and how to go about it. For instance:

-You yell for a player to do something, they do it quickly, and run to go do it.
-If you whisper it, they will do it in a more stealth manner, knowing you don't want anyone else to hear it. They will kneel close to you for the instructions, then quickly but silently go do their mission.

I don't think this feature will be in the game.

Joe Staten said that in the campaign you are playing as a spartan in a squad of spartans. He said that the game feels almost like a squad based shooter, but without the extra baggage that squad based shooters usually have.

I think controlling squads would definitely go under the "extra baggage" catagory.

it would be cool, but it would kinda disrupt gameplay and you would have to learn alot of stuff that some people [like myself] would find useless in the whole run of things, i wouldn't play it like the way you'd want me to if you made this but then that's just me, it is a good idea though

Maybe you could choose to have this on or off.

Well maybe since Natal is coming out, and someone mentioned Bungie might use it, maybe this is what they meant by it.

That will be too difficult to put in Reach, and you'll look retarded anyways.

Example:

Your friend walks into the room.

You scream out, "Go, go, go! Get to the Pelican!"

Your friend slowly backs out of the room.

That's just dumb.

lol, well then I guess if we're shouting they'll know it's urgent, so they do it in a more quicker kind of manner.

it is really hard to have voice recognition in FPS games, Endwar does it well, that that is a RTS. I think Black Hawk Down had this and it was horrible, you always had to use the buttons to command your soldiers.

Good idea, impossible to do because you can't say "Fall back" or "Move up ahead" because Bungie would have to program all the ways people say stuff to make Reach recognize it and have the computer do it.

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

What, like EndWar? I couldn't calibrate the damn thing's voice acceptor. It simply wouldn't.

I do not support this.

Well technology is moving forward, QUICKLY!! So maybe we could see this in the future. Maybe not for Reach, but it would be cool to see this sometime.
