In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

Reach is still in the alpha stages. The beta that we will be playing is more like the gamma(I think that's right) build of the game. This means it will be a nearly finished product. That's why we'll have to wait until next year.

Bungie said Spring 2010 for the Beta in one of their weekly updates like a month ago.

I got this crazy idea, is the Beta of the game in the, Beta Stage?

Anyway, why would Bungie set out to release the Beta the day after MW2 comes out? That would be a great dick move and no point in reality. The beta would last for 2 weeks at max and wouldn't be great, infact, it would suck.

well reach is already past the second year of production and bungie has stated in a weekly update that they have been adding a high level of pollish to reach. so the game wouldnt "suck dick" and also you have to think here we are in a recession and these game companies are competeing for the consumers cash so. it was just a thought but it couldve been something bungie couldve done to throw off infinityward. and lastly the halo 3 beta although not that fantastic was around for 2 months not two weeks buddy. and people played it for the whole 2 months.

Considering that there are only two states of game development (Alpha and Beta), we can assume that. The Beta version we will be playing though wont be the same version Bungie has.

[quote]No, the public beta is not their beta build. Like I said, the build we get is actually their gamma build, and a nearly finished piece. The point of the public beta is to see if the game is really ready to function over Live with people with various internet providers and connection speeds. At that point, that's all they need to know.

You obviously lost yourself. You see, I was talking about if Bungie went with your plan and made it come out today. The graphics would be Halo 3 quality as the aren't done polishing it. There would be even more glitches in it than would it be in Spring.

And again you misread my words. I said putting the beta this close would be a dick move, and that if they released it now, it would suck.

Think.

ok lets "think" in an earlier post you said if reach came out today that it would suck. then in another post the graphics would be like halo 3's. personally i think halo 3's graphics are pretty damn good. ok so i have to "think" real hard about this one that halo 3 was in production for 2 and a half years. and a beta came out around a year and 3 qauters roughly well halo reach has already been developing for 2 years and stil has yet to realease a beta. which is why I think it will be coming out soon. and why i think it will look great and be very polished off dumb ass...

so next time i think that u should "think" before you start talking boy.

No such thing as a gamma build. Only Alpha and Beta each with different versions. The "Halo 3 Epsilon" was a single player Beta (demo) of the campaign and a few other things like Forge. It was still Beta, but it was a more advanced version of the one we got in Spring 07.

Point taken.
Yeah. I wish I could remember where I read this. It was around the time of Halo 3's release, but it talked about how the public beta was more of a gamma or something stage, and more advanced than a true beta build.

I will be there to answer your questions! No matter how obvious or stupid they may be, don't be afraid to ask. It'll pay off in the long haul.

So the day after COD 6? thats today christmas? there on a christmas vacation. It will be spring 2010.

They called it Halo 3 Epsilon. It had Tsavo Highway mission, a few more multiplayer maps, and Forge.

BoxOfBlades

i dont know why people make so much competition between Reach and MW2.ok sure,i dont like CoD,but that doesent mean i think the game sucks.i know its an amazing game, but i also know that reach is going to outsell MW2 on the 360,because this game sounds much better then halo 3 without barely any info out yet.The beta is being released in Spring 2010,read the -blam!- ODST case please, bungie never changed release dates due to what their fans think, and they most likely never will.

exactly my thoughts. I'm not exactly a fanboy of CoD nor Halo. MW2 is amazing! Halo: Reach better be pretty damn epic it's going to change my mind. I'd still play the Beta, i'd just play MW2 more.

That's not what I'm talking about. It was an article or video that talked about the Halo 3 multiplayer beta.
