The covenant on halo 1-2 AND 3 are, in a word, AWESOME, and the amount of concept art and effort that went into making them that way was (and always will be) immense, but improvements never impossible, so here's just a few ideas for our purple obsessed friends;

DIVE DON'T DUCK:
when you go to run over a brute (or hopefully elite in the future), it tends to roll up, and very rarely dives out the way, I think they should dive out the way more often, or/and board you more often, because having a brute dive onto your vehicle and rip a marine out of his seat is an awesome experience, and I think it should happen more.

GRUNT OPS:
perhaps some black armored grunts with maulers (or if there taken out the game) plasma rifles

UP AND AWAY:
perhaps the drones (if still in the game) pick up the marines, fly up really high, bite their necks and drop them

PLASMA SURPRISE:
grunts with plasma cannons, instead of running to a set location and laying down the turret, in fact plant them in random locations, stopping you using the same tactics again and again.

MORE ELITE DROPPERS:
if there are elites, then I would love to see elites dropping in pods at some point, simply because its be pretty cool =]

GUASS MEETS ITS MATCH:
perhaps a spectre (or prowler) with a covenant version of the
guass turret, perhaps a turret that shoots huge explosive needler rounds, just to keep the cov and UNSC even

PHANTOM SWOOP:
perhaps, (obviously at a set time, even in a cinematic maybe) a phantom swoops down and
sucks a main character or someone up into into its central lift and fly's off, obviously the main character would have to be a high rank, because the covenant don't tend to take prisoners.

GUESS WHO'S BACK?:
the covenant armory, well, I hope.
what I mean is the current covenant weapons (compared to the UNSC's) USUALY aren't as good, I think less of the covs weapons should be dual able and should be cranked up a level, like in halo 1, or the books, in the books they burn holes through things, and rip things apart, you never see people over Xbox live fighting over a plasma rifle, or a spiker do you? and when was the last time you were killed by a plasma pistol? (I'm not saying all the humans weapons are better, just in general)

COV FTW:
more marine casualtys and deaths, you kill ALOT of covenant, but I think you should see more marines dying. It is a WAR after all,

thanks 4 reading, please post more ideas and improvements for the covenant based on YOUR experiences, also say which ideas of mine you agree with and which you don't and give a reason for disliking so I can see were I went wrong, but don't just dislike for the sake of it. thanku =]

yes, they are very useful for close quarter blablabla. I've never seen someone using a PR instead of an AR at close range, that's a fact.

umm, no. the drones were the 3rd species incorporated into the covenant, in 1112 A.D.

they just weren't in Halo:Ce for the simple reason that bungie hadn't thought them up yet.

Bungie just need to work out how to have the fuel rod gun work properly in matchmaking. You can wipe out a massive team of Spartans/Elites with a fully loaded fuel rod in one clip. A new heavy weapon for the Covies would be good though.

The Phantom Swoop thing i would like to see but instead of it taking an ally away (dunno seems stupid to me) it should just drop reinforcements. In open maps, every 3-5 minutes a Phantom should come and drop about 8-10 more troops on the battlefield. The more time you spend on a mission the harder it gets since the covenant keeps on getting reinforcements.

As for the Gauss thing, the old Fuel Rod gun from Halo CE was great. Hell, i would fear it especially in the final mission when you go to the PoA bridge you turn a corner and there are a few Grunts holding a few of these.

good idea =], but on the phantom thing, eventually they couldn't drop any more covie off, or game engine wold explode, but they could still drop off LOADS =]
