I hope CoD wins the game war. Infinity Ward loves their fans, unlike Bungie, who fetishes their stupid "banhammer". Also, CoD is more intricate and requires much more skill, with a better ranking system and customizable perks, weaponry, etc.

Plus CoD's more fun to play with girls. Halo's general online community is misogynistic and immature. Girls like call of duty more in my experience. Oh have I had wonderful late nights playing splitscreen with my girl.

More skill?, Son! CoD doesn't take skill you just randomly spam bullets and with the help of perks you'll kill people in 2 seconds.
As in Halo you need skill to aim at people and actually need to work as a team in every game type..

Call of Duty takes more skill than Halo? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! A bunch of my friends that are not that good at shooter games and do not have much experience with them are terrible at Halo, yet they are decent at Call of Duty. If you become good at Halo, it can be one of the funnest games that you have ever played. Also, don't even bring ranking system into the equation. If you lose in Halo, your rank goes down, unlike in Call of Duty. Heck, your rank might even go up if you lose. Since when is losing... well... winning? Also, Call of Duty matches you up with players of any rank, while Halo matches you up with players that have a similar rank as you. So don't even say Call of Duty takes more skill. That has to break my record for the DUMBEST Call of Duty fan boy attempt that I have even seen.

MW2 is new. People are playing it because it feels new. And then they come back to Halo. It is a cycle that will not be broken until Reach comes out.

Wrong. I can't stand relying on Halo 3 anymore. There are too many kids screaming.

I'll be sticking with MW2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 until Reach releases.

I may come back to Halo 3 and ODST every once in a while, for old times sake.

What the hell are you talking about? I wrote the spoiler warning BEFORE I actually told what happens. If your talking about me writing (Ending) spoiler, it's because somebody could think the spoiler could be anything.

  • 11.11.2009 7:55 PM PDT

-I was here

halo will win campaign wise... however, they need to do alot of work on multiplayer, cuz face it, they have WAAAY to many problems with matchmaking right now(booting system, rank system, match setups etc...) however, i have faith that bungie will pulll through.

Halo Games >>>>>>>>> CoD Games
I am pretty sure, that Halo Reach exterminate all aspects CoD MW2

Campaign (Story)

I think Halo Reach is gonna have to do better than running in away in a Warthog, if it is going to beat-

***MW2 ENDING SPOILER***
-pulling a goddamn knife out of your chest, which had just been stabbed in, and just barely managing to save one of your last friends in the world from death. It's less bombastic than a Warthog escape, but my God is it more emotional (not to mention the intense, rumbling, and furious music playing as you are ripping it out).

MW2 Spoilers below!!!!

Agreed. MW2 was VERY emotional. I remember rooting for the Captain, and then seeing the knife. I was yelling, "PULL IT OUT!!!" I 'gasmed when I hit the General in the eyeball.

If Reach can top the emotion in that game, then we're looking at the best Halo game ever.

I like the competition between CoD and Halo, because it motivates the developers to make better games, but there is no reason to bash either game. They are both great franchises.

THANK YOU for knowing what I was talking about!

****MW2 SPOILERS- AGAIN!****

The saddest part for me was definately the death of Roach and Ghost. That scene was so goddamn well done, that it was tear jerking. Epic and amazing. And the score was heartbreaking. General Shepherd was a bastard.

A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

The only thing I like about COD4 was the choosing your own perks and starting weapons part, otherwise I thought it sucked.

I think Reach is going to be teabagging MF2 the second Reach's beta is realeased.

No problem. It's just this forum is filled with blind fanboys. The Ghost and Roach part had me screaming, "WHAT THE F***?!?!?"

If anyone denies that that was an awesome story, they are out of their minds.

All I want is some good competition. Hopefully Bungie will realize their competitors made an awesome game, so they need to step it up a notch.

I have played Call of Duty 2 for about 30 hours and then i played with my friend who has never played Call of Duty and he won

Halo has COD beet hands down. It is more balanced, longer, has forge + theater, and a better matchmaking.

The whole time I was playing MW2 the only thing I could think about was Halo Reach. I really hope Reach is better than MW2 in every way. I love Halo and i believe it was the superior game when it was just COD4 and Halo 3. So hopefully Bungie makes the best game they can and beat MW2 (little hint bungie don't make campaign to short)

There's a mute button.

Why is there such a fuss over which game is better? Enjoy both? Play both. Enjoy one? Play one. Enjoy neither? Don't play them. It ought to be exactly that simple.

I hope Reach is spectacular. I have no stake in it being more popular than Modern Warfare 2, so I see no reason to advocate a hope that it would be.

Your comment is a lot like Halo 2's ending.
The difference is that I wasn't left wanting more.

Right, but my point was, they are all immature. Even when I do mute them, I still get teabagged or grenades thrown at my body.

I have a perfect example. I somehow just kept killing this one kid, and when he finally killed me, he wasted the rest of his grenades on my dead body. The immaturity almost made my head explode.

I've never had my body shot, had grenades thrown at, or humped in MW2.

Gameplay wise, Halo doesn't stand a chance against CoD. That's fact.

Franchise wise, Halo wins.

CoD is just a better game.

Where do you get that logic? While CoD is a fun shooter, it is still playing cacth-up on many of the things Halo has and is still not nearly as good in my eyes.

First off, MW2 introduced co-op "spec ops" which really isn't a big deal since Halo 3 has had 4 player co-op (not just 2). MW2 has the same or at least a very similar multiplayer to CoD4. MW2's story is much less imaginative than Halo's and seems kind of boring.

Halo has way more multiplayer game modes longer campagins, forge, custom games, theater, and 4 player co-op.

Wow, I cannot believe I'm saying this but Call of Duty and Halo are two different games. Sure, they are both first person shooters. But they both have different features. You can compare them all you like, but neither one will ever be better then the other in any aspect. Honestly, Halo has always been my favorite game. But does that mean that I'm a traitor for playing CoD? No, it doesn't. It just means I like playing games. It's not a bad thing to like Call of Duty.

They are both good, besides, Reach comes out a year after MW2 so they don't compete anyway

I understand your point here, but I fail to see how it impacts the quality of the game. Neither Bungie nor Infinity Ward can control who plays their game, so I find this argument to be irrelevant.

Moving on, I believe both games have their merits but in my opinion Halo wins out. The reasons for this are twofold.

Firstly, I am a campaign kind of guy. In my opinion a game is only as good as its campaign. When Halo CE came out, online play (on consoles) was nonexistent. However, it became the standard by which all first person shooters were rated. Call of Duty's campaigns, although not bad at all, always leave me wanting more. I use Call of Duty 4 as my example. The campaign had very little replay value, as the AI was not very fun to play against (or with, for that matter) and the story was not particularly riveting. Halo's story, on the other hand, has become nearly Homeric in scope and has always been the more interesting. These reasons alone make Halo the better of the two for me.

This brings us to my next point, online play. I have played extensive multiplayer on both Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 and enjoyed them both to a degree. But again, I feel that the better of the two is Halo. Halo allows you to have an actual one on one fight every time you encounter someone, and it usually takes some skill (and a bit of luck) to get the kill. In Call of Duty 4 however, I find myself having considerably shorter time alive, seeing as how death is nearly instantaneous. Although this is more realistic, it is not as fun. I do enjoy Call of Duty's weapon customization, but by the same token I do not agree that it makes it the better game. In fact, the perk and weapon customization systems have caused a considerable amount of dispute, often giving a distinct advantage to one player over another.

I'd also like to address a point made by another member. Call of Duty is better to play with girls? Really? Do you actually consider that argument to have any validity whatsoever? I don't know about other people, but I buy and play video games to entertain myself, not my girlfriend. Since when have video games been about whether or not they are fun to play with girls? Think harder before posting next time, please.

To those of you who have read this far, you have my sincere congratulations and thanks. Well thought out and written posts are hard to come by, and I aim to change that.

Are they PS3 players?

Nope, Xbox. Bought it yesterday, went to game chat (why the -blam!- did they disable party chat in that game? I mean seriously!) and then invited me to a party a few hours later when they went back to CoD4.
