dying is your latest fashion..

I agree..

Bungie just needs to kind of stop caring so much about the "casual" part of the game. Just running forward blasting AR's at each other isn't that fun. that's where CoD 4 failed to. It just got repetitive, and nothing ever changed. Hopefully Bungie focuses more on the balance of gameplay of reach. And not just, "what can we put together that will entertain a 12 year old for a couple hours?" (see AR starts on sandtrap)

Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

Not hardly, they have more skill then you with their programs... They obviously have more intellect...

Bungie can make a game as amazing as they want if they didn't have deadlines to make, that's why they started Reach as soon as 3 launched, it's going to be amazing, but nothing will ever live up to the hype. Nothing ever does.

Hype is not impossible to live up to, but highly unlikely.

I wasn't talking about Power rangers: Unite, I was talking about the COD, and Halo franchises...

I'm unsure of the point of this thread. You talk about hype and then you go on to bash the previous halo games in a way that doesn't really link to hype at all. This thread hasn't lived up to the hype surrounding it at all, perhaps I just had massive expectations of the quality of this thread. There's no way given the time frame that I would expect this thread to be created in that you could make a pure diamond of a thread, and I accept that.

I know, right? Bungie's not a business. It's not like the casual players encompass a majority of the gaming community and from making their game more casual they can get more sales for their game. Oh wait...

Haha I really enjoyed that post.
COD MW 2 is hyped and true it's good ---> proof that games can live up to a hype.
And to be completely honest with you Halo CE was the game that made me go: hmm when does the next part come out... True it was a brilliant game but the Multiplayer was something I wasn't fond of--->indestructible vehicles for example.
Anyways Halo 2 was a game which I played until I knew all the lines from the cinematics and I look back at those days with more: hmm good days then Halo CE.
As for Halo 3 you are like: It sucks bla bla. and the sandtrap with the AR or something... and I'm like dude... Halo 3 has one of the BEST multiplayer's I've ever played.
and the COD series has from what I've played (haven't played MW 2 (yet) ) a good multiplayer yes.. actually a very good multiplayer but I keept coming back to Halo 3 for a simple reason: Multiplayer and that's what makes Halo 3 Legendary.
The equal chances every game instead of being pwned by a guy who's lv 65 and has all the good weaps/perks, The heavy weapon control in Halo is more fun then the: oh I spawn with the uber sniper alrdy(or any other weapon that is) And in Halo you actually need teamwork, true counts for COD also, but in COD I still felt like a lone person even when my Team was winning in halo for example you lose miserably when you don't work together(If you play against a team that is),you will notice when you don't have heavy weapon/map control where COD doesn't have that, since you spawn with weapons that you want.
And in COD most of the time there are some people who totally pwn you regardless of weapon true, and make sure the team get's the flag or whatever but even then it still doesn't give me that feeling that I had with Halo... I played COD for the fun of spawning with the weapons I wanted and not having to run to power weapons etc. that is (well) a good thing about COD,But on the other this was one of the reason why I stopped playing COD and started Halo 3 again.
For me that is also I don't have the it's your guy vs his guy.. And I now realise why you don't have that feeling it's You VS Him anymore because you are prejudiced and don't because of that you don't have that feeling anymore.. and m8 you are so wrong because if you play the game properly and immerse yourself in it you will find Halo 3 to be just that..especially in close quarters but hey it's your opinion.

kk.

You misunderstood. Im saying they need to stop caring so much not stop caring completely. Yes, casual gamers play this game too. And they deserve their view of fun. But, on the other hand, the hardcore gamers play this game way more than the casual players. Who play it maybe once or twice a week just to chill with some friends and shoot aliens.

So in the end the hardcore gamers deserve some credit, and some "treats" if you will, to kind of keep them happy with the game they're playing.

Instead of having some random 6 year old rush you with his Host AR, then squeak, "omg you're so bad!! why do you play this game?" O_o

Im not sure if it's the casual gamers ignorance, or what.. But they think that they deserve everything, and hardcore gamers deserve nothing. And that we "ruin" the game by becoming better than you at it. then they come to B.net and get things like the spawns on Narrows "fixed" so you can't spawn kill. When they have no problem with it on the Pit, or other maps.

I just don't understand.

  • 11.12.2009 4:50 AM PDT

ahh yeah it's my second language and I removed some parts.. Looks like a 2 year old writing lol. Nah I meant that Halo does have a combat feeling to it but only if you want to and that this is especially true in the close quarters lv's. The Pit/Gaurdian/Epitaph are examples.

EDIT: Unless you're only going to snipe in The Pit

Wow.

Is this really what I sounded like when H2 came out?

This whine is highly subjective, I am afraid.

Halo 1 fanboys really make me mad. Just because Halo 2, 3 and ODST didn't got a complete Halo 1 magic, doesn't mean it really sucks.
Whatever you say about how bad Halo 2, 3 and ODST is, it's just a personal opinion.

I believe Bungie is already passed that point of attracting more casual players into Halo. EVERYONE knows what Halo is, what it's about, what you'll get out of playing it. Why make it more newbified?

People keep telling me to get a life... I am getting an education, I have a lovely girlfriend and alot of friends... I thought this was having a life? Gues I was wrong...

I love it how most people think they are better at making games than the actual game developers.

OP isn't making sense. The team is dedicated to making this game, if they were not dedicated they wouldn't be making it. The rest is your opionian.
