Then there are the people who poop in the mash potatoes. Those people get launched out on their asses.

No, your opinion does not make fact. This games could release as a 2d side scroller and I bet you enough folks will buy it to make it a success.

The average "Halo" fan seems to crave story, character development, and ingenuity over graphics. There will always, and I repeat ALWAYS be critics. Being a fan means that you have to take the good with the bad. Some people did not care for ODST's lack of matchmaking, Spartans, and Elites. People also loved the film noir story style, playing as a different character in the storyline, and new multiplayer modes.

No one can decipher anything from any leaked images. We don't even know if they are legit. If you are playing a game solely on graphical style, your missing a huge part of gaming.

Once Reach releases, the "Bungie" fans will be on edge to hear of whats next. Casual fans, who are looking for the next thrill will be gone.

yep.
I assure you nobody bought H3 because of it's sweet sweet insane sick graphics and x16 anti aliasing....

I could care less about graphics, why do you think people still come back to Halo CE? Not because it has better graphics than Halo 3. We don't want a braindead eyecandy, the gameplay before th visuals, otherwise it would suck, and you can't say make em both as important, there are always priorities, and hopefully those aren't the graphics. And hell, we aren't in the days of the 64 where everything is polygons, the better the technology, the better the games age well. Halo CE is a proof that it aged well, it isn't bothersome to watch. Though I admit the gameplay was weaker as the storyline and level design. Hell, I can understand you didn't play as the Arbiter again, but what I don't understand, is such an important character, one you played half the game with in the previous Halo, had to be some braindead sidekick who wasn't more present than in a single short cinematic. That was awful. Everything was too fast and felt rushed, the missions didn't seem to have been constructed according to the environment.

I agree, if Halo: Reach is less good than ODST, high chances are I'm not going to buy the new IP.

And if you believe the graphics of the leaked images are representative of the final graphics, you're dumb. I mean, technically, they can't be worse as well as can't be as good, so you get the obvious I hope. And as if wasn't obvious enough either that there were a LOT of placeholders.

I for one will stick with Bungie until they make a game I regret purchasing, and that hasn't happened yet. Every one of their games I've spent enough time with them that I felt I got my money's worth.

I disagree with your opinion on Halo 3. I think Halo 3's storyline was great and I don't think Halo 3's graphics were under par, they weren't mind blowing but they were just as good if not better than most other 360 titles at the time it was released.

I agree partly with what you said about ODST. I think it's dialogue was a little on the cheesy side and could have been better. However, the voice acting and the characters themselves were good. Plus, the gameplay was a blast, especially Firefight.

Overall I don't think Reach will "make or break" Bungie. It would have to be a complete failure of a game for people to abandon Bungie and I just don't see that happening. It will sell like hot cakes on its release. It will break sales records. It will be the #1 played game on Xbox Live until a new blockbuster game comes out. But most of all it will make Bungie and Microsoft a whole ton of money to finance their new IP, which fans will anxiously wait for.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

I agree that Halo 3 did have a poor story, I'll also agree that the graphics were a disapointment since Bungie stated that the game would look like the announcement trailer which it obviously didn't.

ODST was an improvement on both though, and since Bungie are using a new engine the graphics shouldn't be an issue. Story and gameplay is my primary concern for Halo Reach.

If this is the state of my art, then I secede.

I'm pretty sure Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 3 ODST "made" Bungie. Halo: Reach will be another step up in their consistently better games.

couldn't even read half of it, Reach will not "make or break" an awesome company that has already made it 50 million times over.

  • 11.12.2009 9:38 AM PDT

Bungie wouldn't bother releasing something they thought wouldn't work.

This pretty much sums it up. The thing that I find funny though, is that of all the things to harp on about Halo3, why chose graphics? For a title that is two years old (more so if you include the dev cycle) it is to be expected that the graphics don't hold up. At release the only issue I had with the graphics were that of the human faces, the environments were top notch and still among the best looking IMO.

As said above though, the use of a new engine typically means it is more capable of better looking stuff, and given Bungies familiarity with the console i'm sure that slight gripe should be solved.

Bungie already made the best game ever which was Halo CE.

Their just digging their own grave lol
