I think it would be cool if there were a few mini arcade missions, perhaps set at different locales of the halo universe, with play as different characters. You could fight humans involved in insurgencies on earth as johnson, or do a cool stealth mission in a scarab factory full of hunter guards and nothing else. Go on speed runs and the like.

I know this mode's in the new CoD, but halo copied CoD and Gears of War with firefight, and will probably copy CoD's perks in Halo: Reach, so it shouldn't matter too much.

What? Bungie made Survival, which is obviously a survival mode just like Horde and Zombies, in their old game Marathon.

Spec Ops sucks, it's just a mode where you play parts of campaign again but you get a score this time, boring.

MP on the other hand is more addicting than heroin-laced cocaine.

What don't people get about Firefight and other games? Bungie didn't "copy" it from anyone. One of their first games, Marathon, had a survival mode like it. Gears 2 and CoD came miles after. Besides, it's impossible to make a survival game mode without it being "copied", because all of them are the same. Wave after wave of baddies.

Anyway, I'd rather a longer campaign than a "Spec-Ops"-styled game mode.

Marathon is old for some generations of gamers. So it's likely they never heard about it. Their first experience with a Survival mode probably would have been with GoW2. I never even knew CoD had one either.

YES. Halo already has a scoring option in campaign anyways. Thats basically what Spec Ops is, a small part of the campaign with scoring. If anything, it disapointed me.

Erm halo didnt copy COD or GOW2 Marathon was made way before either of them and that had survival so stfu saying halo copied them and there wont be perks in reach if you want unfair teams and some noob with tons of health because of the juggernaut perk go play cod

The less than a second latency of online play is a better system to play off of than more health.

You realize this system is just as host based, right? because if you're fighting host, or someone with a better connection to host, and you each start firing at the same time, his BULLETS will register first, giving him slightly more health if the melees happen at the same time.

So would you rather have the BS of both, or just one?

Nah, I'd rather see them get campaign down solid (for once) so I can just do co-op on that.

As much as I like what CoD is doing with its series I really think game designers should stop trying to immitate one another and really just present games that are unique and distinctly their own. The only thing you get from those "copy-cat" instances are games that always seem to fall short of the original in that particular aspect.

I became bored enough with firefight after not too long and I don't think I would be all too caught up in any other game mode that seemed to be heavily inspired by another work (I realize the irony of saying this about a genre (FPS) that was for a time known as "Doom-Clones").
