Subject: Holding 3 guns at once

Now before you say no please read.
We all know that in halo you can hold 2 guns at once, one in your hand and one on your back. However there are some guns that aren't held on your back but instead on the side of your leg.

Example: pistol, plasma pistol, sword, plasma rifle, brute spiker. so with that logic... shouldn't you be able to hold 3 weapons at once? one in hand, one on back, and one small weapon on the side? well I think it would be a good idea.

Also I think grenades should be placed on the left side around the waste making sticks more explosive depending on how many grenades the person who got stuck was wearing at the time. What do you guys think?

its kind of like the halo 2 no weapons gltich, it can only be done with the flag, i dont know if other objective items first. ill look it up, i havent done it in forever and dont remember how, it might involve duel wielding and dropping or something.

Eh but see im thinking of a small weapon to go on the side like a pistol.

Wouldn't 3 weapons be taxing to switch between during hasty combat situations? Like, someone tries to get you while your sniping, so you go for your Shotgun, but end up pulling out a Magnum.

  • 11.12.2009 1:55 PM PDT

I thaught of that a while ago but then I realised it wouldnt work. For example if u wer snipeing and somebody started sneeking up on you, you then wanted to pull out a shotgun but instead you pull out the other weapon which would waste time and in turn you end up getting killed. But then I thaught if you could use another button to draw your side-arm, but that would mean losing another feature. So in my opinion it wouldnt work.

Sorry The TacocaT. I was typing my message at the same time you did yours and i'm a very slow typer.

Ok, here are some links, although they arent very informative. Ill try to find more for you.

You can even hold 4 guns if you dual wield the current set.

and no, its not a mod, ive done it before, and it apparently works with any objective item, any gametype.

RoflKatLolerSkates!!1wan

I have to agree with this man, its too good a point. Imagine how frustrated you'd be if you pulled out the wrong gun?

  • 11.12.2009 2:02 PM PDT

well, it is possible, its also possible to hold 3 of the same dual wieldable weapon, its simple.

1. Pick up the following weapon: SMG, Spiker.
2. Switch to the spiker, and dual wield an SMG.
3. Go to an SMG, and switch it with the spiker.

Now you are dual wielding SMG's and are carrying an SMG as your other weapon. IF for some reason you are SMG crazy and just have to have more ammo, thats what you do, because you can always drop the one and pick up its bullets.

Golf Wang. Brony.

These types of ideas, which are good in theory and would be fun in a Halo game, would need a lot of changes to the control scheme.

I could see it, two primary weapons and a sidearm/ dual-wield. The weapons could be mapped to the bumpers. That, or there will be an order to the weapons (primary, primary, sidearm) so if you want to use, say, dual SMG's (yes, in Campaign or something you should be able to carry 2 SMG's) you have to tap the Y button twice.

Or it could be all mapped to the d-pad.

is anyone paying attention to what I am saying? Or are people just reading the OP and posting?

I heard ya and I tested it lol so yea its real and 2nd... you know guys this has been done in other games before... halo isn't the only fps in the world D= why not hold the Y button down and a small menu comes up showing which weapons are were on the D-pad or something. The D-pad isn't used for anything but talking and even then you only need one talking button D=

EDIT: Also has anyone given any thought to the grenade idea?

True, you could use the D-pad, but then Bungie will be accused of stealing a system from Dead Space.

Kinda need a free hand to put down your current weapon and pick up a new one.

But I see a different view on holding three weapons at once. When you swap to your secondary weapon from your current dual wielding combo you get to keep said combo and not toss the offhand weapon away.

It's okay, great minds think alike.

... borderlands uses this... as well as a bunch of other games... and what about all the other games like left 4 dead and the games before halo that had the 2 weapons at once and switch with Y button...? it's like the universal switch button for guns.. and no ones accusing anyone of stealing "there system"

Several spelling mistakes aside, I'm beggining to see why you want this so much. But, I'm telling you now, the chances of it happening are extremely low, considering what I posted earlier.

Well still, I don't see it as a hassle in combat situations D=

Really? If you're idea came to reality and you were being hailed by bullets from two oncoming enmies, would you rather a simple system where you know what you're doing, or you're idea, where by the time you have the weapon ready to fire you are lying dead whilst 9 year olds are performing celebratory crouches on your corpse?
