Subject: A possibility for Reach.

We could PM our suggestion to Urk (Lord praise his name), or a moderator, and see if they could forward it.

This is highly unlikely, but I was thinking if we had a Campaign mission in space, we could have some Zero-Gravity combat. It was mentioned briefly in the Halo Wars comic (included with the LE copy), that both human and covenant troops were trained to fight in situation where gravity was absent. So I thought, why not include it in Reach?
Any thoughts? Suggestions?

If they could somehow pull this off... I'd do this.

I appreciate the enthusiasm, but plaese keep it clean.

There should be a very small amound of gravity but not enough to stop you if you jumped into space.

awesome idea!space fights would be epic but no fravity sounds really fun
as u might know EVA and other spartan suits(mainly EVA)have small thrusters for that kind of things.its like when u fall in halo 3 u can steer the character a bit while inb mid air.i think that when u push the left stick forward ur character shall hover towards that direction.or like jump from wall to wall

Exactly, but I can't get more people to tell me what they think. It's quite a shame if nobody pays attention, because a lot of people beleive this concept has potential.

I like the idea but there would have to limitations. Like invisable barriers so you dont go flying off randomly. But really its like that one level of Halo 2 where your walking around on that MAC station or whatever. Make it where you can jump abit higher, but still float down in the end, just make it so we can't live for 20 years out there. 15minutes should be enough.

The bomb cut scene from Halo 2 would be amazing if we could of actually done it.

Off an old James Bond game(Nightfire if anyones played it) the level in space has no gravity and you control by crouching and jumping to go up or down.
OMG YES!!! I remember that!! That was real legit!! God, now I wanna go play that again!

I was thinking something similar to Dead Space, where you aim where you want to go and then propel yourself onto a wall or ceiling. It would make gameplay a lot more taxing, but once mastered it would be ever so fun.
I suppose that could work, but I think Bungie can come up with a better space system. If it's done right it'll be epic.

I am Katsu Kage, an assassin trained in the art of stealth. I was on a recon mission when I discovered a blue box hidden among some rubble. Once I entered the blue box it had taken me to a land far away. It was strange and fantastic! There I met PatikaVoom, the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. She showed me this land, then returned with me to the blue box. She called it a TARDIS and seemed to know how to work it. We left together and have been on many adventures, with many more to come!

See you on the battlefield.

It sounds like a good idea, just so long as an atmosphere is involved, like on a disabled cruiser or something. Outside, in the vacuum, projectile weapons would not work, since the extreme temperatures would make any lubricants on the parts ineffective, and the gun would seize up after only a few shots.

Unless of course, it being the future, infantry rifles are designed with this in mind.

It still might be a fun thing to try, possibly even having a multiplayer map in zero G.

How do the spartans get back into space after being deployed to the ground and have their space armada wiped out by the Covenant?

If you can read this, you are looking at my signature

if anything, they should have a low gravity mission like on Halo 2.

This would make for an amazing level and add diversity to the campaign, something halos never done before! They could even make a multi-player or fire fight map in zero-g. (hopefully both) or they could add a feature to custom games that allows you to toggle gravity. Great thread, a must keep alive.

Im pretty handy with those assassinations.

I think th e concept of a battle in low orbit is something that could be fantastic, if it were done right. But making it seem that you are actually in space is something that would be hard to control. Just for the fact there is no up or down in space. Plus to give it a real feel, there would be no noise. With the absence of an atmosphere, there is no air/medium for sound to travel through. But i think it can be done, with lots of time to develop it.

Helping out the 7th column community with reasonable posts since '07.

I hope it'd be like Shattered Horizon, amazing game by the way.

that was in the form-fitting body suits used in the capture of Col. Watts, thats not the Mjolnir armor systems. They had a 90-minute air recycling system i think.

You don't think we're talking about getting into space do you? If you payed attention to what TartanSpartan117 and I suggested we're on about the Orbital Defence Grid. According to the books, MC fought in the Defence Grid before fighting on the surface.

Thanks mate, TartanSpartan117 and I weren't sure whether to suggest it to Bungie before asking the community first. With people making new threads constantly, I doubt this one will live to see tomorrow, though.

Yes, and with a fusion pistol too.

It doesn't have to be like Dead Space, I'm sure Bungie can implement their own system.

Marathon pistol. Nice. Any way Bungie could do that?

Explain how it would work. Would you be able to control what direction you're going and, if so, how? Explain.

Ever played Crysis? I think it did zero G the best even though the game sucks.
